” The mids fair well with all vocals, and never sound offensive. I would say they sit just behind the lows in presentation, but do not sound recessed or veiled. I cannot detect any sibilance in the upper mids, and they are just very enjoyable, with no major dips or peaks. Guitars have grunt, vocals are clean and detailed, the mids really don’t do anything wrong. I really enjoy listening to vocals on these, as they have a very clear presentation, they don’t really add any flavour to the mids, they present them as they should be.”

“While rock music was my staple LP diet with the Kuzma, I also had the chance to play with audiophile approved black disc, such as the M&K Super Sampler, which has everything in a test disc. Playing the Flamenco Fever sampler track Llorona the dynamics of the calypso in contrast to the floor stomping of the dancer is mind blowing. I’ve never quite heard such strong dynamics, stirring vocla emotion of the singing and the overall musicality of the whole presented like only the Stabi S can. Playing back the same track on my Linn, by comparison, is like listening to the music diluted off it’s dynamics and micro detailing, while that stirring vocal emotion is more pronounced and musicality maintained. It’s like an example of weather striped down coat of automotive paint, still semi glossy, but with lustre and depth lost.”

” Although I now had good linearity, I also tweaked the Sub/Sat Balance on the CR-1, with the expected results: I could easily tilt the response, in very fine increments, one way or the other. A setting of 2dB on the +Sat side of the dial tilted the balance toward the satellites and proved best in my setup — despite a depression in the Triangles’ midrange between 1 and 2kHz, they now had a touch more output there. I found this control intuitive in use, and greatly preferred it to using the level control on the subwoofer alone. ”
