” If you don’t need the massive dynamic swing that the Emmas’ larger siblings provide, and can live with a bit less bass extension and high-frequency dreaminess, you’ll be amazed at how close the Emmas come in a modest-sized room at moderate to less than ear-splitting levels.”
FIIO X3 GEN 2 DAP REVIEW

“Those wondering if the X3 2G is a decent upgrade on their X1, well the short answer is yes. Compared to the new X3, the X1 sounds darker, more congested and with a notch or two less resolution and clarity and indeed a heavier bass bias. Definition is not as good in the low end though and the speed is not quite up to par also with the new X3. More often than not I use an X1 strapped to a more neutral amp such as the RX just to tone down the weight and increase the air of the X1 stock performance.”

” . For that you need to up your budget to something on the order of the much more expensive Vinnie Rossi LIO integrated amplifier. That one produced a more full-bodied sound, with greater soundstage depth with the SB-C700 speakers. The SU-C700 amp is decent, I just wish it could bring out more of the best in the SB-C700 speakers’ sound”

” The Logos Tower bandwidth is also wider with a frequency response of 40 Hz – 25 kHz. Lastly, in this effort to offer convenient lifestyle products with a high-end sound quality, Goldmund has also considerably revised it prices. This places the Towers at an excellent price to performance ratio taking into account that Goldmund systems represent a long-term investment thanks to the upgradability of their software.”

” First whispers of Telos 360 gravitas reached me from Rainer Weber and Jürgen Kaiser, designer and owner of Kaiser Acoustics respectively. They’d stopped by after having departed Goldmund’s Geneva facility for their trip back to Germany. Particularly Rainer was still giving off a veritable glow after having heard their top speaker on the new Swiss amps. Being scheduled to eventually review the very demonstrator pair of Kawero! Classics they’d left in Geneva, I was set to hear the same combo when Goldmund’s Rodolphe Boulanger announced joint car delivery of amps and speakers”
Parasound zdac v.2 Stereo D/A Converter Review

” When comparing the zdac v.2 to the ESS Sabre chip units Benchmark DAC2-D, Mytek Stereo 192-DSD and Resonessence ConceroHP, the zdac’s tight, tightly focused signature was more apparent in headphone amp A/B comparisons. The Benchmark and Mytek had more warmth to the mid and bass frequencies, and a bit more space around the instruments but again, I liked the analytical persona of the Parasound.”

” The Violin SE’s midrange tonality/timbres, along with its transition to the lower high frequencies, were at a higher level of refinement than the Unifield MK2. The Vivid V-1.5 offers speed, powerful micro-dynamics, and excellent transparency/clarity, allowing all the little details of the music to be easily heard. However, it suffers from what I previously mentioned in the body of the review regarding many speakers on today’s market”
