” The high level of bass output also meant that the drum kits were more discernible at the back of the sound stage, instead of simply being there in the background. I really enjoyed a drum solo in one of the Deep Purple albums that I listened to. That bass also reinforces vocals making singers sound more substantial. The sound stage was large with very good depth, and imaging strong and precise. And I noticed when listening to somebody playing a tabla that, while I could hear the sound of the fingers against the skin as I would normally do, I could also hear the deeper sound of air inside the instrument.”

” Having heard it stock there are 2 areas where further improvement could be made. First and most obvious one is to try out various tubes. The first tube that I tried was the Gold Lion by Genalex. This tube provided a richer bass and mids giving a richer and thicker sound making vocals slightly more pronounced. However it is kind of round off the highs. The crisp and sparkle of the highs disappeared. This caused the soundstage to collapse slightly. The next tube I got was the RCA clear top”

” The Harmony 8 Pro works for me. The bass floats just like a butterfly- fast, furious and fighting fit. On the other hand the treble stings like a bee- a tiny prick, with a tingling feeling that lingers after. Overall the sound comes at you quick and fast, creating an explosion of sound as detail comes at you from every possible angle. “Listening to the DSD recording of Patricia Barber track “Company” from Modern Cool the PM-3 had similar extension that I hear while using the PM-1 and the Audeze LCD X headphones. Listening to Nardis from Barber’s “Café Blue” was more of the same eargasms. The treble extension on Nardis had the cymbals shimmering and was never splashy or restricted. They just sounded like live drum cymbals.”
