Grado Limited Edition GH1 Heritage Headphones Review

” I have four pairs of Grado cans in house. The GH1s do not bear much of a family resemblance. All of my Grado Headphones have a very even sound from top to bottom, giving every model a controlled and professional sound. They sound like a recording engineer or a music lover would be equally enthralled with their neutrality and definition. ”
REL 212SE £2,750 Review

“On the rear panel is a crossover control, which can be set between 30Hz and 120Hz, as well as a zero/180-degree phase switch and an always on/standby toggle. Set up is comprehensively described in the manual although you may boggle at the implication that a full system would cost you £13,750 and feature 8,500W peak amplification.”

” . The new Gold Series represents an evolution of its predecessor, the Gold GX Series, keeping the same form factor while incorporating many refinements to the prior design that are intended to further enhance performance. Some of the refinements include a new bass driver, tighter production tolerances of its ribbon high-frequency transducer, and re-fashioned grilles.”

LINN MAJIK LP12 TURNTABLE SYSTEM REVIEW
August 22, 2015 Comments Off on LINN MAJIK LP12 TURNTABLE SYSTEM REVIEW
“The Majik LP12 is also a great leveller of LPs. Those carefully massaged 180g virgin vinyl albums sound good, but so do the bin-end charity store discount specials. The difference between worst and best album in your collection is made less immediately noticeable. That being said, good vinyl still sounds very good on the Majik LP12, but lacks that absolute ‘warts ‘n’ all’ function of über-turntables to extract all there is to extract from the vinyl. At least, at the Majik level: what the LP12 extracts at this point is the musical marrow, but there is more to extract. In part, this is what the Upgrade Path is about.”
Pylon Audio Loudspeakers SAPPHIRE 25 – Review
August 22, 2015 Comments Off on Pylon Audio Loudspeakers SAPPHIRE 25 – Review
“This is a bass-reflex design with a single port placed on the back of the cabinet. Peaking inside I saw no damping, only some reinforcement to make cabinet more rigid. Even though Sapphire 25 seem inexpensive they are part of the top line of this manufacturer. Manufacturer chose high quality elements for its crossover—polypropylene capacitors and air coils for tweeter section and core coil for bass section.”
Onkyo’s A-9010 amp Review
August 22, 2015 Comments Off on Onkyo’s A-9010 amp Review
“The A-9010 sounded clean and clear with music and movies, even when I pushed the volume way up. I played a few LPs on a Pioneer PL-30-K turntable, first with the turntable’s built-in phono preamp, which sounded fine. But when I turned that off and switched over to the A-9010’s phono preamp, the sound grew more dynamic and the bass filled out.”

EarWerkz Legend-R custom in-ear Review
August 21, 2015 Comments Off on EarWerkz Legend-R custom in-ear Review
” While there are basic differences in note presentation, as the Legend-R articulates details more, bringing them to the forefront, both have a natural tonality. Spatially the SE5U is larger and more open, which is in part due to the presentation perspective, but the SE5U is superior in focus within the soundstage for a cleaner overall render. Detail levels are similar, but the SE5U recreates more of the spatial queues with a higher overall resolution.”
