” It’s a relatively quiet circuit, one that keeps all the good sonic points we noted in the line stages. There are four line-level inputs, one tape out and a single preamp output, should you need to add a bit more muscle”

” I did the bulk of my listening with my iPod classic, before I stepped up to the latest version of FiiO’s high-resolution X5 music player ($350) to tap the M4U 4’s full potential. Dynamics and transparency improved, a lot, so with Aphex Twin’s Drukqs album, the seriously deep bass passages were more viscerally felt, and with Rob Wasserman’s Solo album, his acoustic bass’s dexterity and precision were no less astonishing”

” Your ears will need a few seconds to adjust to how things are being presented to you on NS mode also as everything is pulled in a bit more from the sides and placed more in front of you imaging wise. Within those seconds however immediately you will notice the tonality get a welcome injection of warmth, body and musicality. The NS On mode clearly sounds the beefier of the two signatures. Left right stereo separation is far less tangible also and initially you might think your soundstage is being squeezed up and becoming more congested or intimate but in reality it actually does sound a bit more like how some speakers project.”

Paradigm Premium Wireless Series PW AMP Stereo Amplifier Reviewed

” Frankly, the sonic differences between Anthem Room Correction set to its defaults and tweaked to heck and back to suit my own preferences were minimal at best. The differences between the performance of the PW AMP with and without ARC, though, were substantial. Switching back and forth between room correction and no room correction is a simple matter of holding the Mute button for a few seconds, which makes for pretty easy comparison. Without ARC, bass performance was a wee bit less even, a little less controlled, and some mixes had a tendency to be a little out of whack.”

KEF LS50 monitor speaker REVIEW

” The LS50’s proprietary “Uni-Q” driver combines a ribbed 5.25 inch (130mm) aluminum/magnesium woofer with a 1-inch (25mm) aluminum dome tweeter in its center, the driver sports a die-cast aluminum frame. The tweeter has that nifty looking Tangerine waveguide that uses “radial air channels to produce spherical waves up to the highest frequencies.” The Uni-Q driver shares a design and engineering kinship with the similar looking unit in KEF’s flagship Blade Two speaker. The LS50 speakers’ rear-end hosts an elliptical bass port and heavy-duty binding posts that match the quality feel of the rest of the speaker. There are no provisions for wall mounts or brackets, but this isn’t really the sort of speaker that sounds best hugging a wall. I had them on metal floor stands 3 feet away from the wall.”

“The analogue signature comes to mind due to a slightly soft treble, one that doesn’t have the bite or attack of my Questyle Monos or quite have the upper mid clarity for that matter. It is an ever so slightly softer sound as well, not by huge margins but the bass doesn’t have the agility of the Questyle or rumble of the Tektron. But that fluidity. There is also a rather impressive body to the sound that solidifies the sound it already has. A thick and creamy experience that is really pleasant on the ears.”

” he enclosure is a clever puzzle of bottom plate to which the battery sleeve is tacked; the U-shaped perforated rim and its C-shaped end piece; and the cover which slips into a recess to align its bolt receivers with the through holes. When screwed back together, it’s a seemingly bomb-proof brick of a marvel. If you don’t fancy the orange LEDs in the valve pins, Ken’s video explains how to defeat them. Time to lend an ear. Or better make that two.”

Naim Audio Mu-so Review

” The reason all of us entered into this hobby was because of the music and how it made is feel emotionally. We didn’t start purchasing sterile HiFi gear only to find out we could play something called music through said gear. Music brings out emotion like few other things in this world. What can make the emotional experience even better for many of us is getting closer to the performers and the actual sound of the recordings through great HiFi components. In addition, the ability to share both our favorite recordings and high quality reproduction with our friends and family is hard to put a price on. The Naim Mu-so enables us to overcome many barriers to bringing music back into our every day lives.”
