“The main source is the Kronos Pro Ltd turntable, Vitus Signature Phonostage, Cello Suite electronics, and Wilson Audio XLF loudspeakers. You could expect top end audio presentation, for sure. The soundstage was enveloping, and the presentation was engaging and involving. The music could easily sweep you off to the recording venue.”

” You do get a warmer, smoother and slower sound so if that’s your thing, you know where to go. From the Luxury & Precision L3Pro you get a slightly bigger and looser bass but good width and depth with overall. The sound is very rich with the right amount of air. The L&P DAPs are known for their exceptional sound quality and this is no different with the L3PRO. Too bad we can’t try the balanced output. L&P still needs to work on the UI urgently though.

“For a more level playing field I plugged the AudioQuest DragonFly Red into the microRendu and was presented with a more lit up sound as compared to the Discovery’s analog output where music felt more alive and punchy. I’m not talking about night and day differences or even good and bad differences, rather subtle shifts in sound that may or may not matter to you, your system, and your room. All told, I kept thinking—Wow, all of this sounds really good and I’m using the Discovery to make it all work; no server or computer needed.”

“Library management is a fundamental part of server design and Innuos has gone further than most in its attempts to make this easier. It could, and undoubtedly will, be refined over time, but so long as you let it do the sorting for you – and look at those reports when they come in – the ZENith is capable of making this side of things pretty straightforward. On the sound quality side, it is very capable indeed – clearly more so than the competition I had to hand thanks one presumes to the SSD storage. This does limit absolute capacity, but you can always go for the 2TB option for an extra £500, and even then the ZENith MkII is the least expensive SSD server on the market. All in all, it’s a very hard act to beat for anyone looking to push streaming quality to the max.”
