” After all those years I’ve finally experienced a V-Moda Headphone. The V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless left me a positive impression overall with it’s great build quality, form factor, style and usage. To be honest with you, sound is not up to my liking overall. When I look at it in an objective manner though, it’s a great headphone for bass lovers and fun sound signature. Also I really liked the performance on movies and games, even tough it has a very good sound for music listening.”

“A fully featured and, above all, easy to use analog-based recording system. One principle feature of all lower cost vinyl ‘ripping’ systems, often ignored, is that the better the quality of the original source the better the final ripped file. Hence, Pro-Ject was not only brave, but sensible in choosing the higher quality Debut as an analog source for this system. The company could have easily have defaulted to a cheap and cheerful system that would have worked fine, yet it would not have been able to properly handle the highest resolutions at 24-bit/192kHz or DSD. Pro-Ject should be applauded for their design choices! Yes, this package may be a slightly niche choice, but I welcome the very fact that this choice exists.”

” I prefer the term “acoustic resistor” as it’s often used to describe aperiodic vents. Aperiodic vents are sometimes used in small speaker enclosures to reduce the “pressure effect” at low frequencies without introducing resonances as simple ports do—hense the term “aperiodic.” In the MDR-Z1R this resistor is made of long-fiber Canadian softwood pulp in the traditional Japanese Washi paper style.”

“Interestingly, I never plugged my Audio Research Corporation VT110 Power Amplifier or my new Jeff Rowland Continuum S2 Integrated Amplifier into my Audio Power for fear of power reduction. No such worries with the 1800. Unless you are using huge power sucking monoblocks, you’ll be fine with the 1800. ”

Grado Labs PS2000e Headphones $2695 Review

” The PS2000e headphones step up the game established by the 1000e, but retain the PS1000e tightly focused imaging, professional level neutrality, spot on tonality, and low distortion at all volume levels. The 2000e diverge from there with significantly brighter tonal colors, a bigger sound-stage, a truly life-like realistic presentation, a faster snappier sound, and an overall openness that is not a result of DSP or the like, but careful use of materials and more powerful driver. This is an accomplishment that does not come cheap…$2695 to be exact, Grado’s most expensive headphone offering. ”
