“It’s a shame that my original Thor Silver is terminated for use with Audeze headphones, that makes it kind of hard to compare the sound signature of both cables. What I like most about this cable is that it almost disappears when you’re using it, the cable is so comfortably and light (for an aftermarket cable) that it never bothers you when you’re on the go. Sonically, its major strength is the incredible clarity, precision and cleanness. In contrast to most of the silver cables that just increase treble presence (which this cable also does), this cable does a bit of everything. Without influencing the bass, mids or treble “body-wise” it makes everything more precise, tight and clear”

” If you do not own Transparent Audio cables, be aware that the Transparent Audio XL Generation 5 is not the most expensive set of cables that Transparent Audio sells—those would be the Magnum Opus models, and I did not audition any of those. ” It might not come as a surprise that I’m pretty infatuated with the Golden, and it ended up being one of my favorite cables. With the right pairing like an iem as the S-EM9 and especially Zeus, it manages to take a world class iem to yet another level with its beautiful tonality. But considering my praise, it might be a bit surprising that it isn’t even one of Sammy’s own favorites. He personally prefers the Silver Litz or Wizard OCC, as his preference is for an uncolored sound with a primary focus on resolution. So I guess that puts everything in perspective: in the end, preference always speaks the final word. And of course, matching is essential.”

” As for wide scale dynamics and bass power, Def Leopards’ Animal slamed its foot through the floor with great impact and low-end extension. Perhaps not quite as fast as the MIT Cables, it carried the bass ever forward with no sense of lagging. Billy Cobham “Spectrum” displayed great power and dexterity. The bass notes flew through the speakers again with no sense of strain or limitation. This is good stuff. The warmth remains yet did not congeal the mid bass or low bass. What you get is wonderful color and texture if not the final word in inner detail. “I’m still Alive” from Pearl Jam, despite being a bass heavy track, allowed the upper mid range to shine through unscathed. As I’m listening I realize just how deep and powerful yet well articulated the bass actually is. The lowest notes simply pressurize the room with great effortlessness.”
