The XM-GS4 four-channel amplifier has a rated bandwidth of 10Hz to 100KHz and variable low pass/high pass filters. Intended as an add-on for the previously released XS-GS6921 rear speakers and XS-GS1621 and XS-GS1621C front speakers, the XS-GS1 super tweeter has a 1-inch soft dome and can be installed facing the windshield to increase high-frequency dispersion.

According to Naim, the system also uses “active bass transducers” so low frequencies “are felt, as well as heard”. We’re awaiting clarification from Naim as to what this means in practice.

The rear half of the RX7 is actually taken up by a full custom base for most of the speakers (aside for the ones in the doors) and the subwoofers. Where the rear seats were is an inclined enclosure which houses the two OA12PRO11 subwoofers – which face forward diaphragm up – and four OA66PRO11 splits; two per side. Facing out towards the back are another two OA66PRO11s per side. The eight tweeters have been mounted in the hatch door’s upper window frame which is lined with perforated leather.
