YANYIN CANON II REVIEW

In terms of fit, the Canon II stands the test of time. Even after a long 14-hour session, I did not notice any discomfort. The craftsmanship is impeccable, with no evident flaws. The IEMs offer a snug fit, ensuring no irritation even whilst walking around. As for isolation, the solid acrylic shell provides great passive noise cancellation for a universal IEM.

Sony WF-1000XM5 Truly Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds $299 Review

If you turn noise canceling off those numbers go up to 12 hours for the earbuds with 24 additional hours off the charging case, for 36 hours total! But the company is quick to note that performance will vary based on settings, environment, storage, usage, and that over time the capacity of the battery will degrade so Sony does not guarantee these numbers, but the point is that you do get a long playtime out of even a single charge, despite the diminutive size, more than enough for example to cover transcontinental flight.

SOFTEARS STUDIO 4 REVIEW

The mids have nice refinement and texture, along with a pleasant natural timbre. The positioning and detail are also impressive. With all that being said, the layering performance isn’t the best to my ears, and sometimes you hear congestion in the mid-range. It seems as though the vocals and instruments are confined to a limited space and cannot freely move beyond it. The source device can affect this trait to some degree, but you hear it occasionally. Of course, I don’t expect a sub-500$ to sound exceptionally spacious, but you just be aware.

To extend the frequency range down to 5hZ and ensure a low-end listeners can feel without compromising on size, UE Pro designed two dual sub-low drivers in parallel with four dual mid-low drivers. A quad-mid driver provides unmatched nuance, clarity and adaptability no matter the instrument, genre or listening environment.
UE Pro’s proprietary True Tone driver and Knowles’ proprietary Quad Super Tweeter extends the frequency range up to 40,000 kHz, delivering the richness and warmth from upper-register harmonics.

HIDIZS MS3 REVIEW

Hidizs continues its uniquely shaped aluminum design that started with the MS5. The MS3 shares its aesthetics with its bigger brother, excluding the rose gold grille that resides under the aluminum faceplate of the MS5. In my opinion, the IEMs look even better without the grille, and I find MS3’s design quite nice. The ”angel wing design” of the Hidizs is unique and looks quite nice, especially in the ear, under different light sources.

KIWI EARS ORCHESTRA LITE REVIEW
August 3, 2023 Comments Off on KIWI EARS ORCHESTRA LITE REVIEW
In terms of fit and comfort, the Orchestra Lite is very good and fully met my expectations. Despite their relatively large shell size, they fit snugly and comfortably in my ears without any discomfort. However, as with any large earphones, fit can be subjective and vary from person to person, so it’s a good idea to try them on before you buy, especially if you have small ears.

PEARS MC-8 REVIEW

If you have special & specific requests apart from those, I’m sure they can get it done for you. I always say I like slick and simple designs in terms of CIEMs, therefore I’m very happy with my pair. But surely some companies are way ahead on the customization side of things.
My sample has a dark fashion with a black shell and black faceplate. The metallic blue P-EAR-S logo tops the design nicely. With all of my other CIEMs, I chose to have clear shells with some combination of faceplates, but this design of the PEARS MC-8 looks subtle and unassuming which is nice and easy to wear without much attention from the crowd. It oozes business and seriousness overall.

DUNU SA6 MK2 REVIEW

The design does not have the standard metal nozzles that we usually see from Chi-Fi brands, resulting in a neat, coherent build. However, this design choice slightly limits tip-rolling with aftermarket tips that have wider stems. In my opinion, the aesthetic appeal of the SA6 MK2 more than compensates for this minor trade-off. The design of the SA6 MK2, with its elegant yet professional stabilized wood faceplates, truly illustrates the look and feel of a proper custom in-ear monitor. Kudos to the team behind it!

7HZ LEGATO REVIEW
July 22, 2023 Comments Off on 7HZ LEGATO REVIEW
The situation in the treble is even more extreme in that perspective. At least the mid-range still has some definition to an extent, but the treble is cut so much that you can’t quite hear any shimmer, sparkle, or detail. So, to me, this is the weakest area of the 7Hz Legato. If you seek a sparkling, highly detailed, and definitive treble, you should stay away from this one and look elsewhere.Perhaps this is a ood trait when playing games or watching movies, where you hear gunshots or explosions occasionally. But from purely a music perspective, this overly-tamed and extremely polite treble presentation carries a problem for clarity and presence.
