“They performed equally well with most music genres though admittedly I don’t go in much for the “House” or EDM sound that might, in fact, prefer a boomier bass-heavy headphone, of which there are plenty out there for less discriminating tastes.

What the EA3s are is an exceptional, well balanced, everyday use IEM, that won’t insult your music or sources and that won’t break your heart and pocketbook if you lose them, with a look and sound that will fool the uninitiated into believing they are much more expensive than they actually are, a definite thumbs up recommended product.”

64 AUDIO TIA FOURTÉ NOIR UNIVERSAL-FIT $3,799 REVIEW

“As IEMs, the 64 Audio tia Fourté Noir are sensitive enough to be driven by almost anything, but they work best being fed quality, not quantity. That being said, they sounded outstanding running off the end of a Chord Mojo DAC; the warmth of the Mojo rather than the detail-frenzy of the Hugo II and beyond makes for a combination that is both informative enough to unlock your music and not so hyper-analytical as to lay that music bare and exposed. Of course, better is its own reward, and more digital detail does really work here too, so be prepared to spend big on the front end.

There is an obvious downside for me. They are a strictly limited and expensive edition, and that means my pair of 64 Audio tia Fourté Noir are already sold to some lucky bugger and ‘my’ set have to go back sooner or later. I’ve tried everything from avoiding phone calls to secreting my own distinct and charmless musk over the product, but sooner or later they have to go back in the box…”

Huawei Freebuds 3 – Wireless

“The packaging is every bit Huawei and if you are in a region that Huawei markets in you would understand what that means right away. Lots of minimalism and “Apple” styling with a strong emphasis on white. It looks good, no complaints there and everything you would expect it to be for the price point.

Inside there are very few accessories mainly because this is an open bud design so do not expect to find any tips or ear hooks. Instead, you get the case on full display with the Freebuds secured inside and a white USB-C charging cable below in a separate cardboard accessories box.”

“However, it did not carry a huge amount of weight and texture, especially some of the lower-mids instrumental and vocals. Hence, the contrast points such as percussion, low-end bass lines, and female vocals stood out a bit more as these are the elevated FR points. This is also where odd-harmonic contrast or low-end fundamentals are at their highest.

With the new Solaris SE, the mids now have that more rounded and forward staging presence. Lower-mids have less of a suck out with more body and presence. Male vocals are fuller sounding and easier to pick out than before. You are no longer pulled as much to the top-end or low-end but rather you get a better perception of engagement for the entire presentation.”

FIIO FH1S REVIEW

“The entire top end is very tame, but with a slight sparkle factor that is just inching toward bright. I found this a stark contrast to the upper midrange, a sudden bump of treble that makes the top feel just a little more lively. But, at the same time, still not what I would consider plentiful or bright overall up top.

What does that mean? Well, to use fusion guitar as a reference point, harmonics and piano key strikes (sudden treble out of nowhere) have a great sense of dynamic flair and enjoyable flavor. That brightness and engaging factor are there, but the top end is not omnipresent with this tonality. It comes only when called for and for the rest of the experience, it is laid back in regard to physicality.”

MOONDROP STARFIELD $109 REVIEW

“This IEM has a smooth feeling on the low end, lacking a strong sense of dynamic and physical impact (strike and wince factor). The IEM is non-fatiguing for me after hours of usage and it doesn’t require much amplification to max out its low-end potential.

Opt for source/amp quality and not power with this one. It really sounds quite good through the Hiby R6 portable music player and with just a little EQ and throttling of the low end, you can boost up the bass quantity a bit.

Directly out of my Sony ZX1 Compact’s 3.5mm output, the experience is lackluster and much better when I pair the Sony with the Xduoo XDA5+, either via 3.5mm standard amping, or the digital output option.”

1MORE True Wireless Review

“The battery life in the ANC drivers and cradle is just ok for me, nothing really stands out aside from the 10 min quick charge giving 60 mins of use. At the moment, however, ANC performances for most TWS is below that of class-leading non-ANC TWS by up to 50% so this is not just a 1MORE challenge.

For example, the non-ANC Noble Falcon and Lypertek TEVI have a driver battery life of 10 hours with cradles that range from 30-70 hours. The 1MORE is a max of 6 hours with the ANC off and 5 with the ANC on and a total of 22 hours including the case. The Edifier TWS NB has the exact same battery measurement and the Sony WF-1000XM3 so slightly better at 6 hours with ANC on.”

“When I asked the projected price of the Cupids, Teng replied with practiced nonchalance, “Oh, about £249.” Hunhh?!?I could scarcely believe my ears, partly because the Cupid sounded competitive with earphones carrying four-figure price tags, and partly because it was one of the least expensive oBravo earphones ever.

“The Cupids use compact lozenge-shaped earpieces made of mirror-polished brass treated to an electroplated ‘black gold’ finish. The driver complement consists of a 6mm dynamic mid-bass driver with neodymium motor magnets and a 8mm second-generation planar magnetic tweeter (patented). Signal connections are via enhanced oB-MMCX connectors. A 1.2m, balanced signal cable with silver-plated OCC conductors and a 2.5mm balanced plug comes standard, along with a 3.5mm adapter. Also included are three pairs of silicone and Comply™ Foam ear tips. a small two-chamber carry bag designed to keep the earpieces from chafing against one another, and an oBravo cable tie-down strip. This configuration, called the Cupid Prime, sells for £249 (or $269 US).”
