“The Westone ES80 is a perfectly tuned neutral monitor with great extension, richness, speed and separation. Its sound stage goes both wide and deep and there’s great layering. In fact, I love the tuning and performance so much that the Westone ES80 is going straight to my CIEM recommendation list. The neutral, yet excellent, ES80 has quickly become one of my favorite CIEMs, and it’s even pushing the UM Maestro V1 from the list.”

“Previously, buying at CA was old school discussion via email with PDF’s and pictures for a rough guide. Piotr does innovative design work so I just let him have his way and the crazy lava candy design was born which I still love to this day.”

AUDEZE ISINE 20 – LIGHTNING REVIEW

“Audeze opted for an all plastic build for this, likely to preserve as much weight as possible. Regardless, they are clearly a well built product with great attention to detail. The Audeze ‘A’ stands bold in the middle of a pattern of grills venting the driver inside. The sound bore is long and while wider than most, it is a thin plastic and this could be the only risk I could think of, and that’s a small one. Cables are removable with the standard 2-pin seen for years in earphones and I like that, mainly because it means I can replace the linguine flat stock cable. It isn’t horrendous but it is the only thing I would change of the original package, I just have something against flat cables, maybe because I have got the likes of this one on so many cheap, tacky IEMs. ”

Noble Audio Katana Flagship $1850 Review

“The Katana offers supreme luxury, tonal finesse and exquisite technicality, as it should. At $1850 USD, value has no place; this isn’t a product for the average listener, this is a statement. In line with this mentality, Noble pamper the buyer with a comprehensive unboxing and a meticulous build that catches jealous glances like few others. The Katana’s neutral to bright signature won’t suit every buyer, but that’s the ingenuity of Noble’s flagship offerings that cover both sides of the analytical/engaging spectrum. These aren’t realistic in-ears, but engaging ones.”

“There’s also an irritating amount of cable noise, which is impossible to ignore and to negate this you must sit absolutely still. For anyone planning to use the IE 800 S on the move, it is a disappointing return for what is a hefty wedge of money.”

“there’s no way I’m going to describe all 36 signatures. In fact, I have not listened to them all. After reading the manual, I installed Red, Black, Gold. Then, after speaking with a friend, switched to Red, Black, Gunmetal. I have not experimented further. That is the sound I like. It is the most bass-heavy and warmest, despite what the manual claims”

Monoprice’s new M300 in-ear headphones $150 Review

“The iSine10 and iSine20 were game changers when they were introduced back in 2016. Audeze was the first to release what looks like an on-ear headphone, but one with an extension nozzle that directs the sound into your ear canals, the way in-ear headphones do. But unlike other in-ears Audeze’s were “open-back,” so they don’t isolate the user from the environment. Neither does the M300.”

Fiio F9 Pro $100 Review

“Due to a multitude of vents on the inner face of each earpiece, the F9 Pro provides just average levels of isolation, just sufficient for public transport but they’ll get drowned out in louder environments. They are relatively low-profile and can be slept in comfortably, they also produce average amounts of wind noise despite their rippled texture. The F9 Pro wears comfortably, with a minor ache forming at the rear of my ears after several hours due to their slightly larger dimensions.”

FINAL E3000 EARPHONES REVIEW

“At £49 a pair, Final’s E3000 is down to brass tacks on what you are able to receive from a high end earphone purchase. Unfortunately the E3000s lack a noteworthy driving bass element to their sonic picture that could be hard to overlook for some. I was able to compensate the bass response by pairing the E3000 earphones with my ifi iDAC2 headphone amp. If you have the means, I found that with the proper support of a headphone amp my impression never strayed far from hearing a balanced musical picture. ”
