” The earphone is at all times an enjoyable listen, the sound is full and every part has its place. Maybe I have been spoilt for what is capable in terms of CIEM soundstage but I find this to be good with obvious use of all 3 dimensions but I don’t find it to be huge, the JH Audio Roxanne sounds huge, this seems layered and open but not near that level, although I think the JH Sirens are in a league of their own in terms of sheer size and this easily matches the rest of my best CIEM in terms of size alone. The imaging seems pretty precise but maybe my personal biggest gripe with these is the background just doesn’t seem that dead, it just a bit blurry. ”

T-PEOS ALTONE 200 IEM – REVIEW

” These are not a reference IEM by any means; they’re meant to be enjoyed. Unfortunately, it does not extend as far as other IEMs can which eats away some of its airiness and microdetails and keeps it from being a top-tier IEM. Cymbal decay is the easiest way to discern how well an IEM handles treble detail and the Altone 200 comes just short of resolving the harmonics something like the UERM or even the Hifiman RE600 or DUNU DN2000 can.”

” The over-ear pads provide a less bassy sound, reducing both impact and depth compared to the on-ear configuration. Bass bloat is also diminished slightly. Perhaps the over-ear option was tuned for less bass on purpose, in order to compete with more balanced, higher-end full-size headphones.”

” In general, it is open sounding, has good, wide and open soundstage. Not only it has good detail, but it also portray detail in a very natural way (Not harsh). How could I not to mention the bass? Oh! The bass is natural, open and fast. Bass is wide and present enough when the music needed it,

” yet also to ensure that the earpiece is compact enough to fit the widest possible range of ear sizes and shapes. Moreover, Westone gave some thought to making sure the earpiece is easy for user to grasp, insert, remove, or to adjust or reposition during use. These might seem obvious and basic points to consider, but honestly you would be amazed to see how many earphone manufacturers somehow mange to get the basics “not quite right.” Finally, as a tasteful and fun aesthetic touch, the W60s come with three sets of differently coloured, user replaceable faceplates in matte metallic grey, gold, and red.”

Apollo Audio Lab Firebolt & Woodbolt – Review

“The bottom of the mid-band continues the warm signature and it means woodwinds and double bass’ have a nice texture to them, it’s a bodied sound that is really enjoyable and truer to life than the copper cousin. This textured feel follows in to the male vocal range too, unfortunately though the top of the vocal range sounds shouty like there is a bit of a spike there. It’s a shame because it really is a smooth, nicely voiced mid-range up until the top.”
