Sony Flagship XBA-Z5 IEM $700 Review

“I would expect for these headphones to be three times the size for the amount of dimension they portray. On the surface, these aren’t the head turning hotties like some of the other universal IEM’s out there, but they are appealing in a classic, minimalist way. They are solidly built and easily handled all of my unnecessary roughness like a champ.”
Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear Review

“The midrange of the Momentum is mildly recessed, in keeping with a v-shaped sound signature. However, due in large part to the plentiful bass, it does not sound overly thin. Clarity is limited slightly by the recession and bass boost, but on the whole it is more than respectable. ”
JH Audio Roxanne in-ear headphones $1,649 Review

” Even so, I’d still give the nod to the best full-size, over-the-ear headphones like the Audeze LCD-X for producing more open and spacious sound than any in-ear headphone, including the Roxanne. Bass is another area where the over-the-ear headphones outpace in-ears, but as far as in-ears go, the Roxanne’s bass power and definition are state-of-the-art. The LCD X is a very large headphone, so it’s nowhere as portable as the Roxanne.”
ROCK JAW ARCANA V2 IEM REVIEW

“The Arcana V2 sports a 1.2m lighted braided cable in a rubber/pliable plastic sheath which is terminated in a right angle 3.5mm jack which is a fairly healthy rubberized strain relief also. It does suffer from a touch of microphonics which you can reduce with an over the ear insertion.”
NOBLE AUDIO KAISER 10 CUSTOM-FIT IN-EAR MONITOR REVIEW

” While the Kaiser 10s do enjoy a certain amount of bass lift, their low end does not sound slow, sluggish, bloated, or painfully overblown. On the contrary, they offer excellent bass pitch definition, detail, transient speed, and dynamics. Thus, the listener is treated to a mildly ‘zoomed-in’ view of the low-frequency content in his or her favourite recordings—a view that reveals richly textured and densely layered pieces of important bass information of the sort that often gets lost or goes under-represented with most earphones and speaker systems.”

” The term reference-grade typically connects with a few widely celebrated over-ear and on-ear headphones. Their common drawback – and it’s a serious one – is weight and size as principal contributors to listener fatigue.”

” Sonically, as well, the UERM did very little – really nothing – to call attention to itself. In fact, it wasn’t long after I started playing with them that TIDAL’s lossless streaming service officially launched, and with that a marked increase in my time spent listening to music.”

” Music was audible and clear for the most part, but we had a difficult time achieving a tight seal, and as we’ve noted in nearly every in-ear headphone review we’ve produced, a solid seal is crucial for decent sound quality. Our biggest problem was with getting decent low end. We jiggled the buds any which way into our ears to see if we could stop the noise bleed, but heard little improvement. We tried all three sizes of eartips included in the package, and still struck out.”
FINAL AUDIO DESIGNHEAVEN VIII IEM REVIEW

” Owing to Final Audio’s ‘Balanced Air Movement’, the Heaven VIII accomplishes a quantity of bass hard to find in other balanced-armature IEMs, especially those with single drivers. Lows are full and articulate with a great sense of dynamism and realistic decay which contribute nicely to instrumental music.”
