” Its was not easy deciding on the Best Earphones 2015 list. 2015 has been a big year for us in the portable audio hobby and with all the big trade shows done, with Christmas fast approaching most of the audio companies have shown there hand and there earphones for 2015. So what have been our favourite earphones of the year here at Audiophile On? This list hopefully have a bit for everyone, its not just about the best sounding earphones or the most expensive earphone there are a lot of different reasons we have chosen these as the Top 10 Best Earphones this year, price, sound, design all play a part but we would like to say a big congratulations to the companies that have made it on to this list, as they are the ones we feel are doing it right, pushing the boundaries of what portable audio can be. ”

“At the heart of the amplifier are eight vacuum tubes that process the incoming signal. “The advantage of tube amplifiers is their superior impulse processing,” said Axel Grell, Portfolio Manager Audiophile at Sennheiser. “However, one challenge is their sensitivity to air-borne-noise.” For this reason, the amplifier housing was crafted from granular, inhomogeneous Carrara marble and is freely suspended with the amplifier. The decoupling of the tubes in combination with the damping properties of the marble has the effect of reducing structure-borne noise to an absolute minimum. The tubes themselves also have a high-quality patent-pending enclosure consisting of quartz-glass bulbs that perfectly shield them from their surroundings.

” Hopefully, you didn’t take that last section in a negative light. It wasn’t meant to be negative towards the headphone in the slightest…because I think the new GH1 sound excellent. The old PS500 sounds noticeably grainier than the GH1. With regard to the GH1, the midrange is bloomed just a bit, providing just the right locale for vocals that isn’t overly in your face, nor recessed. It certainly feels very rounded in shape and vivid in dynamics and texture, something I adore greatly, which is a stunning contrast to all of the other Grado’s before them. There is a very nice sense of substance,”
