” When I first listened to these, I found the highs a little lacking in presence and sparkle, but now I don’t find that an issue. They are by no stretch bright headphones, but the highs extend and compliment the mix very well, they are well separated and controlled, you can hear every tap and crash of a cymbal, you can hear it extend and gently roll off, very detailed and never splashy.”

“Listening to the DSD recording of Patricia Barber track “Company” from Modern Cool the PM-3 had similar extension that I hear while using the PM-1 and the Audeze LCD X headphones. Listening to Nardis from Barber’s “Café Blue” was more of the same eargasms. The treble extension on Nardis had the cymbals shimmering and was never splashy or restricted. They just sounded like live drum cymbals.”

“More audiophile-oriented fare, like trombonist Thurman Green’s Dance of the Night Creatures CD upped the One S’s credibility. The sound was transparent and very open for a closed-back headphone, with solid, clearly defined bass. The One S’s keen balance was beyond criticism. NAD’s sweet Viso HP50 headphone did nothing to alter that opinion. It was less transparent on Joel Frederiksen’s gorgeous Nick Drake tribute album, Requiem for a Pink Moon. Vocals in particular sounded incredibly present and natural; the One S just let them be.”
