REVEL CONCERTA 2 F35 FLOORSTANDING LOUDSPEAKER REVIEW

” The other thing the F35 gets spot on is its top to bottom balance. I’m sure the consistent driver materials help, but so too does the carefully judged top-end extension, with enough energy and detail to deliver satisfying air and locational cues, but not so much that the top-end sounds spotlit, bright, or harsh. The Revel’s musical range isn’t just seamlessly integrated, it’s satisfyingly rich of colour and tonal warmth to make for long-term listening pleasure. ”

Magico S5 Mk. 2 Loudspeakers $38,000 Review
January 23, 2017 Comments Off on Magico S5 Mk. 2 Loudspeakers $38,000 Review
“The S5 Mk. 2 comes, as did its predecessor, with aluminum grille covers. The covers are basically cosmetic and protective and should be removed for any serious listening sessions. A small supply of the round felt pads that go between the magnets and the front of the speaker is useful since the cushions tend to fall off with time and you don’t to accidentally mar the speaker.”

VIENNA ACOUSTICS THE MUSIC FLOORSTANDING LOUDSPEAKER REVIEW
January 23, 2017 Comments Off on VIENNA ACOUSTICS THE MUSIC FLOORSTANDING LOUDSPEAKER REVIEW
” Vienna quotes a sensitivity of 91dB for The Music, which combined with a 4 Ohm load, a -3dB point as low as 22Hz, and the lack of leading edge exaggeration from the drivers means that you’ll be looking for a powerful partnering amp. A couple of hundred solid-state watts – or a very good 100 plus watts from a tube amp – should be considered a working minimum. I used big VTL amps (Siegfried monos or the S400) that worked brilliantly – and indicate just how far you can take this speaker – but at the other end of the price scale I suspect quantity is more important than absolute quality. ”

RYAN SPEAKERS TEMPUS III LOUDSPEAKER $15,995 REVIEW
January 22, 2017 Comments Off on RYAN SPEAKERS TEMPUS III LOUDSPEAKER $15,995 REVIEW
” The Ryans strongly urge users to bi-wire the speakers, and hope you’ll remove the nickel-plated brass jumpers with which the Tempus IIIs are shipped. I began my listening with the jumpers in place, utilizing my usual Transparent Ultra (Generation 5) speaker cables. The only bi-wire set I own are the outrageously overachieving AntiCable Level 2 Performance Series model ($164 for a six-foot pair!) and I was more than a bit surprised at the improvement I heard in transparency, dynamic nuance, and soundstage continuity when I substituted them for the Transparent cables”

DYNAUDIO XEO 2 WIRELESS LOUDSPEAKER $1,500 REVIEW
January 21, 2017 Comments Off on DYNAUDIO XEO 2 WIRELESS LOUDSPEAKER $1,500 REVIEW
“The common wisdom in the audiophile world is “wired good, wireless bad.” Well, Dynaudio and its Xeo 2 really upset these assumptions. Not only did its combination of packaging, performance, and convenience find a receptive audience with yours truly, but the Xeo 2 was also a hit among my tech-savvy millennial nieces and nephews.”
