A Live One is a great live album that embodies a vibrant, colorful upbeat narrative, pulsating with propulsive rhythms, electric guitar riffs, great percussive playing, engaging keys, and great audience feedback and interactivity.
The bluesy, almost jazzy feel requires a loudspeaker with a sparking core that can not only ignite the momentum but maintain and follow it at all times to fully capture the Phish at its core. Figaro L2 is not shy of dynamic shifts, able to fluently follow both micro and macro changes promptly and aptly.

I view the concept of break-in with one eyebrow arched; we are crossing the line into audio voodoo here, in my opinion. However, the one component category where the idea of break-in makes most sense is with loudspeakers: The idea that moving machined parts with tight tolerances may take some time to loosen up and get in the groove seems reasonable to me. I admire my fellow audio writers who have the willpower to let things run in for days or weeks before they pay any attention to it, but I’m too impatient usually—with something new, I want to hear results right away.

PureAudioProject Quintet15 with Voxativ AC-X field-coil open-baffle loudspeaker system $20,990 Review

Most audiophiles crave a beautiful loudspeaker cabinet that compliments the interior décor. Ze’ev is aware of this and thus his speakers are available in different front panel finishes. I was asked about my color preference, and I indicated “red.” The pair submitted for review is painted in pumpkin red. If you want your pair to be in red and not of the pumpkin variety, be sure to specify “intense red” or “wine” red. Hope it’s not gonna make Ze’ev and his team pull their hair out.
Standing over six feet tall and arching towards the listener, the PAP Quintet15 Voxativ AC-X is taller than the 72 inches tall Sound Lab Majestic 645 that I reviewed in 2020, and the contrast couldn’t be more striking between the two, in which one system uses just one lone albeit powerful seven-inch full-range driver and accompanied by four 15-inch woofers, versus one that utilizes a large canvas of a radiating area of a panel. Interestingly, both designs feature no magnets and operate on externally energized principles.
