“There was no hum coming from my turntable. The record pops and ticks were still evident but missing was any hum or noise coming from anywhere in the system. The background was black-dead silent without anything but the music. Inner detail became more clear and transparent. I could hear the notes and musicality without any distractions. Digital recordings were noticeably quieter. I had zero amount of jitter or noise from the MAC streaming and the music with revealing headphones was more musical as I heard no noise from any source used for this evaluation. Noticeable was the differences of detail and more enjoyable was no noise coming from the musical streaming.”

“Along with all of the obvious sonic benefits of the Qkore system, there are a couple of practical matters that are worth pondering. The first is specific to audiophiles living in apartments or in houses like mine, where adding a separate ground line connected to a ground rod sunk in the yard isn’t feasible. (In my case, it would be impossible to add the wiring to the outlets in my listening room, or add new dedicated lines.) Qkore settles the issue, providing a clean separate ground when no other option exists”

“There is one more important tidbit. Reportedly, Bluetooth 5.0 has the potential of better sound quality thanks to new data compression technology. The S8 doesn’t support that and in any case, legacy Bluetooth devices such as headphones and speakers won’t support it. Still, a new codec with higher audio quality would be good news. When I get confirmation and more details, I will do follow-up post.”

“I was bowled over by the positive effects the Equi=Core 1800 had on my gear. Both vinyl and digital were improved. Noted improvements — the usual suspects with quality conditioning — blacker backgrounds with concomitant drop in noise floor, zero hum, with that ever so slight white noise our ears recognize as distortion, all gone. The proverbial veils were lifted. Like diving into a crystal clear glacial lake untouched by humanity. ”

“Interestingly, I never plugged my Audio Research Corporation VT110 Power Amplifier or my new Jeff Rowland Continuum S2 Integrated Amplifier into my Audio Power for fear of power reduction. No such worries with the 1800. Unless you are using huge power sucking monoblocks, you’ll be fine with the 1800. ”
