The depth and layering are quite nice however, and if your headphone is up for it, that will show. The mids are nicely spacious and airy, and the presentation is very natural.
Vocals here are soft and they blend in perfectly in the mids, not being pushed forward on the stage. The treble region also is soft and void of sharpness.
It’s a very safely tuned upper region that won’t be offensive to anyone. In fact it might even be too soft for some of you, but it does perfectly match the amp’s tuning.
The bass section reaches down low, with a bit of sub rumble but it is mostly about body and weight. Bass isn’t the fastest or most detailed, layered. The Quantity here is more important.

Wilson Audio Sabrina V loudspeaker Review

Give the Sabrina Vs a chill-down with the gentle beats of Azimuth’s ‘Last Summer In Rio’ [Marca Passo; Far Out Recordings download], and they reward with a gorgeously rich and detailed sound. Here the bass and drums were crisp, tight and powerful, with the guitars and keys soaring eloquently above them – ideal listening during the heatwave at the time of writing.
The speedy, extended sound of the Sabrina Vs dovetailed well with the vocals and harmonies of the Eurythmics’ ‘There Must Be An Angel’, from the 2018 edition of Be Yourself Tonight [Sony Music download], where Dave Stewart’s multilayered scoring underpins Annie Lennox’s wonderful voice. And their ability to reveal fine production elevated the ‘Mamunia’/‘No Words’/‘Picasso’s Last Words’ sequence from the 50th Anniversary release of Wings’ Band On The Run album [MPL/Apple/Capitol 5543565].
It’s all wonderfully understated musicianship, and the Sabrina Vs, fed from the high-end dCS and Constellation hardware, made it so effortless and yet captivating right through to the distant reprise of ‘Jet’ and those lush strings.

Hidizs x Linsoul AP80 PRO MAX $139 Review

There is always something I wish were improved regarding the sound of sub-$300 DAPs, mostly the perceived lack of resolution, transparency, and warm or cold coloration, as well as the occasional veil in the treble and lack of bass impact.
I’m pleased to report that the Hidizs AP80 PRO MAX does not introduce an obvious warmth to the sound, and the treble remains clear.
When I listen to the AP80 PRO MAX, I’m greeted with a neutral tonality characterized by a flat perceived frequency response and a transparent sound without obvious colorations, with an above-average soundstage size.
The bass is neutral with a small amount of added boominess in the sound; it goes deep and rumbly without losing too much control. There are acceptable details and articulation in the sound.
Lower midrange is clear and tight; there is no artificial warmth or bloom. It sounds colorless yet not clinical, as the overall sound is never thin or light in note weight; the vocals never lack body

Bayz Audio Courante 2.0 Loudspeaker $60,000 Review

These speakers make things easy because they stand out for specific reasons that other speakers don’t. Let’s delve into that a bit…. First and foremost they are omni-directional speakers, so if you have no interest in a non-traditional, non-dynamic, non-right angle cabinet based speaker then you’re not even reading this. If you are looking for a speaker with flexible placement, a wide sweet spot, palatial staging, and accurate image specificity you are a candidate. If you and your life partner are looking for something unique, modern, artistically designed and masterfully crafted, then you are a candidate. If you don’t cringe and laugh when you see $60,000 as the price tag, then you are a candidate. If you want the tonal structure, harmonic complexity, and dynamic impact of a dynamic driver but don’t want a dynamic speaker, then you are a candidate. If you are looking for a seriously sick pair of insanely cool looking speakers, you are without a doubt a candidate.

Luxsin Audio X9 Review

The mids perfectly connect to the bass section, with the same amount of body and weight. The mids are nicely airy and spacious and they to me are slower paced but natural.
Same goes for the vocal presentation, which isn’t too forward here. It nicely blends in but it’s not the most energetic (hence the engagement issue for me).
The top-end is very easygoing and safe to the ears, it will never offend. Sure it’s easy to listen to but it doesn’t help to improve the energy and engagement issues I feel there are. The top-end doesn’t really impress me if I can be this honest.

AGD Productions SOLO Limited Edition GaN-Power Monoblock Amplifiers And Andante Mk II Preamplifier Review
November 13, 2025 Comments Off on AGD Productions SOLO Limited Edition GaN-Power Monoblock Amplifiers And Andante Mk II Preamplifier Review
The MkII front panel is essentially unchanged, remaining simple and minimalistic, with touch-sensitive keys (no mechanical movement). The option of Apple’s handy remote is also included to manage menu functions. Additionally, the Andante now has a new ‘teaching’ mode that enables the remote with different types of controllers. A home theater bypass is now standard to enable easy integration with HT systems. The back panel configuration retains the same design of the MkI, with 3+1 analog inputs and 3 analog outputs. The third output can be customized as a subwoofer or high-pass filter output with a cut-off frequency at 120Hz (-3dB, at 6dB octave slope). All connectors are Cardas for all single-ended inputs and professional grade Neutrik for the balanced inputs. The Ethernet port has functional LEDs to monitor the communication stream over the network.
As my interests lay largely in vinyl LPs, my Kronos Sparta table remains my primary reference source, with the Esoteric K-03 available for variety. Tidal, Quobuz or sim.streaming portals are not part of my audio diet as-yet, though perhaps someday. Consequently, my primary evaluation of the Antante MkII focused on its phono stage, as well as a portal for the K-03.
As a conduit for digital listening, I ran my Esoteric K-03 both as a single box player and as a transport utilizing the Andante’s internal DAC. In both positions, digital examples retained a silky, yet highly detailed character, with wonderfully articulated transient speed throughout the dynamic spectrum. Used as a DAC, the Andante proved exceptional, demonstrating no over-emphasis of upper frequencies, stridency, or stretch. Transient strings and metallic percussion were strikingly beautiful, consistent across the frequency and dynamic spectra, devoid of any sense of artificial exploitations. There was a tangible, organic presence about the lower frequencies, albeit slightly less so than when the K-03 was used as a single unit player. Nevertheless, firm, well-fleshed, and true to character.

STAX SR-007S Earspeaker System $5,700 Review

The engineers at STAX have created, in my opinion, a very special headphone. Inspired and taught by the legendary engineer Kazuo Suzuki, who has been with STAX for over 50 years, the current generation of engineers continue to refine and honor the tradition of excellence. This third model of the SR-007 series, the SR-007S are a result of the continuing research and push towards perfection that STAX is famous for.
