Luminous Audio Technology’s Remarkable Arion Phono Preamplifier – Review

” At this price point there should be little compromise though sometimes, designers attempting to extract every last bit of detail and resolution, push the envelope towards “analytical”. That is not the case with the Arion. It manages to be highly resolving on top, producing expansive high frequencies and clean, generous high frequency transients without sounding analytical or “crunchy”, though some listeners might prefer more air and slightly sharper transients.”

” The unique driver configuration is said to focus low-frequency energy produced by the transducers “in order to effectively move the air in the room” and distribute driver-to-room coupling more smoothly.”

Audio Tekne TFM-9412 stereo integrated amplifier review
September 3, 2015 Comments Off on Audio Tekne TFM-9412 stereo integrated amplifier review
” True high performing high-end amplifier should be in as much as possible in absence of distortions and odd harmonics being introduced. Imai San for a change talks and elaborate on something, that I’ve been repeating for many years and across of many of my reviews. When we’re talking about the true natural sound transients and dynamic impact there is on half way of doing thing. Audio reproduction must be of the highest grade”

” Detail and definition are good enough to make sense of what’s going on. It’s a pleasant performance, easily better than many similarly priced CD players we’ve heard.

Focus Audio FC6 SE $1,400 Review
September 2, 2015 Comments Off on Focus Audio FC6 SE $1,400 Review
” The treble response is smooth and detailed, while the midrange is neutral, both areas depending of course on the quality of the signal fed to the speakers. Importantly, played loud with good recordings, nothing grates on the ears… no hint of glare or brightness, or any lumpiness in the lows.”
MOLA MOLA MAKUA AND KALUGA review
September 2, 2015 Comments Off on MOLA MOLA MAKUA AND KALUGA review
” The combination was certainly able to produce high sound pressure levels, make no mistake. The frequency range they reproduced was wide and reasonably uniform.
Starting with the bass, it was quite extended but I have missed some control across the entire bass range and especially in the upper bass/kick drum area where the Kalugas sounded somewhat lean and anaemic..”
TEAC HA-P90SD Hi-Res 24/192 PCM-DSD Player $599 Review

“The screen lacks the ability to show artwork as well. This may not be a big deal to some listeners but viewing an album’s artwork while listening to the album would be a nice option. And unlike some of the competition, the HA-90SD does not offer Bluetooth (or Wi-Fi) streaming to a wireless speaker system, like for example, the Astell & Kearn AK-100 Mark II.”
McIntosh MCT450 and McIntosh D150 – REVIEW

“This couple of players definitely has the sense of the rhythm. It is apparent while listening to “Girl Talk” by Oscar Peterson (SACD Universal). The recording by Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer gives us a pleasant piano and drum cymbals very accurate. The charleston seems to be right here between the loudspeakers. ”
LABKABLE CUSTOM IEM CABLE REVIEW:
September 1, 2015 Comments Off on LABKABLE CUSTOM IEM CABLE REVIEW:
“It comes with an octo braid tubed design as opposed to the Takumi’s flat cable design. The cable is designed to be extremely low impedance using a combination of silver wire along with low resistance solder. The Blue Horizon cable has also received a special anti-oxidation coating in order to stop discolouration and degradation over the long term. In use now it has been my go to for when out and about sound is crystal clear just as it should be.”
