“While Rotel touts the importance of the PEQ and the ability for a dealer to dial in the processor to a room, the omission of any room correction solution is a glaring omission in today’s market. There’s also no current or future support for immersive surround formats such as Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, or DTS:X. As with most of Rotel’s products, the RSP-1582 doesn’t appear to have an upgrade path, so prospective buyers should think very carefully before making such an investment—especially in light of the fact that we are in the middle of a technology transition with UHD standards being outlined and HDMI 2.0 fresh on the market.”

” Firstly, its lower shoulder keeps a stronger angle against the ear, ensuring it stays in place. It’s not as secure as a custom earphone, nor does it lay as flat as the SM64, or even an Ultrasone IQ. But it fits well, is pretty comfortable, and it hangs most of bulk outside of the concha in a vertically-built chassis. That allows it to fit into medium-small ears, which is great help. The proof? My wife told me that she could go with Velvet for the entire ride from Tsukuba to Nagareyama Central Park, which takes about thirty minutes. She lasted for about fifteen minutes with Dita Audio’s The Answer.”
