HIFIMAN HE-400I Review

” To me the HE-400i is tuned more linear than the 500 and the 500 is more laid back sounding. The 400i has a smoother and more musical presentation in the mids section with more body. It is less dry in a way (not that the HE-500 is dry). The 500 is known for its slightly more in the back mids so that’s no real surprise to anyone. Treble do is more detailed on the HE-500 imo.”

Heed Canalot & Q-PSU HeadPhone Amp Review

“I was impressed with the Canalot’s ability to let me experience the whole of the track. I was able to drift with the song and eventually with the album. I substituted the DAC2 from W4S for the Dactil 1.2 and the experience moved inward and I was in the midst of the sphere rather than observing it. Overall, I preferred the Cary/W4S, but no shame on the Canalot. The Heed was less immersive but still a complete presentation. – See more at: http://headphone.guru/heed-canalot-q-psu-a-tiny-desk-powerhouse/#sthash.2vxUtVns.dpuf”

Custom Art Harmony 8 Pro silicone shelled custom in-ear monitor review

“Essentially, the H8P provides accuracy and control regardless of the type of bass notes, with the ability to recreate nuances in acoustic music as well as electronic bass notes that surpasses all others I have heard. While the H8P is more revealing in the bass region than I have heard, that can be a good or bad thing as some recordings have their bass flaws revealed (I am used to this in the treble region, but not the bass). Dynamics are first class with excellent punch and speed. Overall the bass is extremely capable, powerful, and revealing but not overbearing in any way while recreating nuances missed by most other TOTL CIEMs. If you want a bass monster, this isn’t it, but if you want to hear oodles of detail, the H8P delivers”

Creek Audio Evolution 50A review

” That low-end deficiency puts the 50A’s tonality a little on the lean side, so taking a little care with system matching would be sensible. You’ll hardly notice the shortcoming paired with standmounters, but those fond of floorstanders should choose rich, sweet-sounding towers (say, the Q Acoustic Concept 40s) to flesh out the sound ”

HiFiMan HE-560 Headphone Review

” he HE-560’s transparency and “speed” produced startlingly realistic drum sound, and the cymbals’ metallic sheen was beautifully resolved. It’s rare to hear a trumpet’s incredible dynamics reproduced without compression, and I could clearly hear the instrument within the context of the church’s natural reverberation. The HE-560 didn’t hold anything back.”

” It is very strange, but I had trouble keeping the earbuds where they should be, in my ears. For earphones that are meant to be used with a mobile device and by that logic when you are on the move, the Sennheiser in-ear has a problem. I tried both the ear plugs that come in the box, but both of them struggled to stay in place”

Pass Labs Xs 300 Dual Chassis mono amplifiers Review

” The Nemo produced the most subdued version, creating an almost tube-like rendition on Van’s voice. The Pass Labs Xs 300 produced something in between, but also with a bit more detail and natural texture than the Nemo or Nada. In my subjective opinion, the Pass Labs Xs 300 did the best job with this recording, taking the edge off Van’s voice while still providing every detail and nuance of that voice.”

Noble Audio 4 in-ear headphones Review

” As I spent time with the Noble 4 it started to remind me of my Zu Druid V speakers. They share an immediacy that brings back more of live music’s presence. Acoustic guitars sound natural on the Noble 4, and cymbals and percussion instruments shimmer and sparkle as they do in real life”
