” The other scene that I consider to be demo worthy in this movie involves an attack by a masked gunman with a 12ga shotgun. The gunshots are deep and loud with huge dynamics especially on the first couple of shots. The SX-1212P/R did very well here producing a visceral gut punch with apparent ease”

Focal • Spirit Classic Headphones Review

“I briefly compared the Classic to Focal’s other two Spirit models and found that the company’s literature fairly describes their differences in frequency balance. The Spirit One has a definite bass boost to compensate for intrusions from the outside world (say, when they’re used on the bus or in busy traffic).”

“That said, I can’t wholly recommend the Woo 234s for loudspeakers with moderate sensitivity, such as the Extremas, even considering there was some seriously immersive magic coming out of them. The Extremas tend to fare better when driven with more resolute power”

Phase Technology PC60 CA Loudspeaker Review

“The PC60 CA pair grew on me. I became quite fond of them, and before each listening session looked forward to spending time with them. If someone were to tell me that these were to be my last pair of speakers, or they were my “desert island” speaker, I would be absolutely fine with that”

‘Don’t be in hurry in judging the Manley 500 monoblocks. They need a long and patient run-in of about one hundred hours, during which you will have all the time to appreciate the gradual sound improvement and learn how to live with them happily”

“The M500 ultimately paved the way to a better descriptive handle on the Theorem’s core essence: ballsy below the waist with a creamy-cool midrange and top end. Think: 500g rump steak smothered in mushroom sauce.”

Naim DAC-V1 Digital To Analogue Converter/NAP100 Power Amplifier REVIEW

August 19, 2014 Comments Off on Naim DAC-V1 Digital To Analogue Converter/NAP100 Power Amplifier REVIEW

http://goo.gl/tyQJZ4 Read Here

“I ran my well-used set of Sennheiser HD650 ‘phones into the DAC-V1 with my Marantz SA8260 SACD player again connected to one of the optical inputs. It didn’t take long for me to grasp just how superb this headphone stage is – the clarity and detail levels are as good as anything I’ve ever heard from a dedicated headamp, while dynamics are delivered with an authority that needs to be heard. Interestingly enough, the sound quality from the DAC-V1’s headphone stage is much more like the traditional Naim sound I’m used to – slightly lean but oh so fast.”
