“Tracking through some solo vocal and instrumental favorites again reveals nothing but nuance. Going back to some of the early Windham Hill records, mastered by Stan Ricker and pressed at the same JVC plant responsible for the first Mobile Fidelity titles is exciting. Alex DeGrassi’s acoustic guitar and George Winston’s piano comes through clean and clear. Piano notes are clean, with the proper amount of sustain and depth.”

Döhmann HELIX 1 REVIEW

“This is the first known to me turntable built around MinusK system. It is not placed on top of it, it doesn’t use it as a decoupling system but actually is integrated with it. Such a radical exploitation of any technology does not happen to often and I’m incredibly curious about results it could yield used for a CD Player.”

Brinkmann Audio Bardo Turntable $9,900 REVIEW
November 5, 2016 Comments Off on Brinkmann Audio Bardo Turntable $9,900 REVIEW
“The presentation of the Bardo is indeed unique. Record after record has an ease and freedom from fatigue, again because of the excellent speed accuracy this table offers. Friends with canine hearing claiming perfect pitch that can hear a plethora of speed issues on every table I’ve ever reviewed were not only dead silent listening to the Bardo but they were also outright complimentary. Violins take on a magical realism with this table because of that speed accuracy.”

” If you are looking anywhere near the $2300 price range or even thought about spending more, you really owe it to yourself to hear the 9.3. It’s a screaming deal-and not just because of the price, but because of what it delivers to you in terms of musical enjoyment and the amount of information it retrieves from the grooves. I would need eight more thumbs to give the 9.3 all of the “thumbs up” it deserves. Needless to say, the 9.3 is highly recommended”

Bryston BLP-1 Turntable Review
October 8, 2016 Comments Off on Bryston BLP-1 Turntable Review
” The BTP-1 is the turntable’s power supply. It’s linear; not switching. Bryston designed and built the one-third sized outboard unit entirely in Canada. I had a professional bench-tech measure it. He said it’s the second best power supply for a TT that he’s seen in over 20 years. The quietest and most accurate one came with a ‘table sporting a $25K price tag. In practice, the BPT-1 runs silent and delivers ultra-clean power to the motor.”
