“Balanced armature receivers in today’s IEMs and hearing aids are quite a bit different than in headphones of old. Conceptually, the biggest difference is that current BA drivers don’t have the “see-saw” pivoting armature like that shown in the diagram above. Todays drivers use an armature that acts mechanically like a diving board. Let’s take a look inside a typical BA receiver used in today’s IEMs and hearing aids”
