There is no escaping the fact that this is an expensive loudspeaker system. At nearly $23,000 for the silver finish reviewed here, including the dedicated ST3TX stands, the ME1TX competes directly with some exceptionally capable floorstanding loudspeakers. And yet that comparison ultimately works in TAD’s favor.

The ME1TX delivers what I would estimate to be at least seventy to eighty percent of the scale and authority of many moderate-sized floorstanders while offering a level of midrange transparency, coherence, and imaging that will equal—or surpass—many considerably more expensive designs. Whether that balance makes sense will depend on your listening priorities, room, and musical tastes, but it is an unusually compelling proposition for listeners who value accuracy and musical engagement over sheer physical output.

My time with the ME1TX was nothing short of sublime. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of living with and reviewing some truly exceptional loudspeakers. Most earn my admiration. A select few earn my respect. Only the rarest products leave me thinking about how I might fit them into my own system after the review is over. The TAD ME1TX is one of those loudspeakers. It is, quite simply, my favorite loudspeaker to have occupied my listening room. The TAD ME1TX has earned a place on my short list of future loudspeaker purchases. I can offer no stronger recommendation than that
