According to Esoteric, the “MagneDrive” system was more than five years in the making. It sees a soft Iron induction wheel surrounding the lower part of the aluminium platter, which spins in response to the rotation of a magnetic driver mounted on the drive motor. Consequently, there is no direct physical contact between the platter and motor assembly, keeping the platter isolated from the motor’s vibrations.
