The Affinity cable has fixed ear loops, and these are a bit off for my ears, affecting my ability to obtain a secure fit. It doesn’t affect comfort much.I got to experiment a bit with cable rolling on the Eminency, and the results were mixed but mostly negative in effect.

The first cable I tried was a silver cable, and I didn’t like the result since I noticed a sudden drop in bass definition and body, plus the overall sonic profile became strident.A copper cable was the best in bass definition compared to the silver cable, but the high frequencies then lost a micro amount of definition.

I think that the rule you must follow here, if you’re hell-bent on cable rolling, is to stick to hybrid cables and avoid cables made with only one type of cable strand material. That way you get that blend that’s sonically similar to the Grand Affinity cable.
