” I’m partial to the 2M Black, which mates flawlessly with the Plinius. Having spent a lot of time with the massive Plinius Class-A monoblocks, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with the 980. The Accordos perform their best with a lot of current and the 980 delivers the control necessary to really rock these small but mighty speakers.”

“. My surround and rear presence speakers were both set to large, however, and crossover points were set a little too low given the speaker sets. I can’t really fault YPAO for this, as I happened to place my surrounds in the back corners of the room with the rear Atmos modules on top, and corners are known to reinforce bass.”

” There is more to the Kagura than unusual purity, transparency, and liquidity. The Kagura rendered large-scale symphonic works with seemingly limitless dynamic contrast along with a powerful and full bodied low-end. “There were really no major changes until around 300 hours of playing music through the system. Sonically, the system has continued to improve with further playing time, the minor timing accents have finally been released from their captive bind, the initial harshness and fatigue is gone and finally there is an overall sense of ease. Spatially, instruments and voices are now realistically portrayed in their own very large space, not too forward and with all the subtleties of live music. The more hours clocked up, the better it is sounding. Patience has its rewards.”
