“Inside the NAC-N 272 features a jitter-reducing SHARC processor, isolated analogue and digital sections, floating circuit boards and a volume control derived from the flagship Statement amplifier. As is the case with a number of Naim’s products, the NAC-N 272 is upgradeable by partnering with an external power supply. The new model is compatible with Naim’s XP5 XS, XPS and 555 PS”

SOULUTION 711 STEREO AMPLIFIER, 701 MONOBLOCK AMPLIFIER

” When it comes to dynamic linearity the 501 was simply nonpareil. Every other amp I’d listened to, tube or solid-state, reached a point where it simply couldn’t get louder or more dynamic without also audibly changing its sonic character. Sometimes, this pivot point came relatively early on, as it did with the puny ARC Reference 210 monoblocks (less so with the stouter Reference 250s); sometimes it came relatively late, as it did with the Constellation Centaur.”

Rotel RSP-1582 Reference Review

http://goo.gl/7Q7ozk Read Here

“While Rotel touts the importance of the PEQ and the ability for a dealer to dial in the processor to a room, the omission of any room correction solution is a glaring omission in today’s market. There’s also no current or future support for immersive surround formats such as Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, or DTS:X. As with most of Rotel’s products, the RSP-1582 doesn’t appear to have an upgrade path, so prospective buyers should think very carefully before making such an investment—especially in light of the fact that we are in the middle of a technology transition with UHD standards being outlined and HDMI 2.0 fresh on the market.”

Triode Lab’s 2A3PSE Power Amplifier

” In a word, it sounds BIG. It plays with authority – it sounds like a big power amp, one that has an effortless ease – and also tremendous finesse. For gain attenuation I used my DACT CT2 – it’s essentially as transparent as a straight wire through, which makes it easy to evaluate a power amp on its’ own merits”

Cambridge Azur 851A integrated amplifier Review

“Thibaudet and the Azur 851A got the cabaret-like “purring” of the holothurian just right. Pianist and amplifier seemed in sync—I could feel the varied forces of Thibaudet’s fingers as they struck the keys. At this point in my listening I could best describe the sound of the Azur 851A as relaxed and enjoyably colorful, in a class-A triode sort of way. It sounded more naturally toned and weighty than my Creek 3330 or my Line Magnetics LM-518IA, and showed none of that off-putting grayness or brittleness often heard in low-priced, high-powered amps.”

“aim has employed its proven SHARC processor and proprietary floating-point filter software in conjunction with a Burr-Brown chipset to provide decoding for the six S/PDIF digital inputs as well as the Ethernet, wireless and USB connections. The NAC N-272 is also DSD 64x and Spotify enabled. The digital circuitry is separated from the analog section using opto isolators, and all signal-processing functions shut down when one of the three analog inputs is selected. The volume control is a resistor-ladder design based on the one developed for the S1 preamplifier, and all analog inputs and outputs are relay switched for complete isolation from parallel connections. ”

BALANCED AUDIO TECHNOLOGY REX II PREAMPLIFIER AND REX II MONOBLOCK POWER AMPLIFIERS REVIEW $19,900 each

“Overall, the Rex II amplifiers delivered, when appropriate, a tremendous wallop—not a sledgehammer assault but a true sense of the scale and sweep of the music. One track alone sufficed to demonstrate for all and sundry who were at my house for a party that the amplifiers can deliver a prodigious amount of current—on Monty Alexander’s mind-blowingly good performance of “Night Mist Blues” at the Montreux Festival, the palpability, speed, and body of the piano as he slams the keys were staggering, enough to bowl over even non-jazz aficionados. The piano seemed to resound in the very space in front of us.”

“But most importantly, the phonostage is dead quiet and, like the rest of the amplifier, it does not exaggerate or embellish. The Ortofon 2M has a similar sound, so if that’s your fancy, I can’t suggest this cartridge highly enough. Those wanting a bit more mellow/warm/euphonic sound should consider the Grado Reference Master 1 Moving Iron cartridge. With a 5-mV output and requiring 47K loading, the Grado will add a bit of warmth to your system’s tonality, which is especially useful if your record collection consists of mostly jazz and classic rock.”

“It seemed that the Icon pair could always give the music a lively bounce. With Kings Of Leon and Come Around Sundown [Sony] the Icons gave you the power of the drums and bass (even though the bass weight was moderate), and revelled in the over-the-top guitar sounds.”
