WOO AUDIO WA7E DAC/TUBE ELECTROSTATIC HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER $1,399 REVIEW

My final thought is this, like its brother the WA7 Fireflies, with a huge three-dimensional soundstage, a linear tonal balance down to 15Hz, natural timbre to the instruments, the speed and detail of an electrostatic, with plenty of dynamic range the Woo Audio WA7e DAC/Tube Electrostatic Headphone Amplifier punches way above its weight class.

JDS LABS ATOM AMP+ HEVI – REVIEW
June 22, 2023 Comments Off on JDS LABS ATOM AMP+ HEVI – REVIEW
Power wise, the Atom Amp+ can sustain up to a 600 Ohms load, and maintain a solid 9.05VRMS continuously. A very good number taking account of the size of the amp, even more if you think about the price. SNR exceed 122dB, noise is minimal at juste 1.99 microV across the full frequency range and channel imbalance should not exceed 0.6dB – each and every volume knobs are precisely hand-tunes by the team. Marvelous!

CAYIN HA-3A TUBE HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER REVIEW
June 17, 2023 Comments Off on CAYIN HA-3A TUBE HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER REVIEW
The HA-3A provided tons of enjoyment regardless of headphone choice or music genre and my only regret is having to return it after this review is done. While I didn’t use it the ability to have two separate sources one balanced, one single-ended was much appreciated as with any long-term system I would eventually be using vinyl (I used the balanced exclusively for the review). Congrats Cayin, this one is a winner and receives my full recommendation to anyone who enjoys music.

FELIKS AUDIO EUFORIA EVO REVIEW
June 6, 2023 Comments Off on FELIKS AUDIO EUFORIA EVO REVIEW
Of course, the Euforia evo still works as a Pre-amp as well, just like before. I have been using it this way in my speaker setup in my office and I must admit it is very good. The smooth tonality the evo ads to the delivery is a pleasure to the ear. This review will focus on the headphone amplification part only, but it’s important to say the evo is an excellent pre-amp as well.

HIFIMAN SHANGRI-LA JR REVIEW
April 21, 2023 Comments Off on HIFIMAN SHANGRI-LA JR REVIEW
The mids perfectly connect to the bass and they share the same amount of body but also the character. Natural, but smooth that is. The mid timbre probably is the most impressive. Spaciousness, airiness and that bit of tube smoothness and warmth do it fr me here. The vocals are more to the front and the upper mids have a brighter, less smooth character. The typical vocal presentation doesn’t bother me in any way in this typical tuning, and it always keeps things exciting (but realistic).
The treble section is where the SHANGR-LA jr is less linear and starts getting peakier from around the 2K mark. It’s not so much an issue to me, and many fellow headphone enthusiasts like this typical tuning. Treble is never bright or sharp, but it is energetic, spacious and extends nicely.
