VISION EARS VE8 – REVIEW

” The VE8 picks up a lot of noise with ALO Audio’s tube powered CV5 and as it’s audible during music playback, it’s a no go for me. When you can hear past the noise then you get a very rich sound with superb bass, rich mids and energetic treble. Such a shame about the CV5’s noise as this would have been a superb combination. With ALO Audio’s CDM in full balanced mode, you more or less get the same story but there is less noise which allows you to listen to music without it disturbing you. The sound is very clear, fast and precise with great dynamics.”

NOBLE AUDIO KAISER ENCORE REVIEW

“Many weeks and more than 5200 words into the review later I can honestly say, the Encore is a masterfully crafted in ear monitor with outstanding clarity and detail, superior control and coherence and the most natural iem I know. An earphone that undoubtedly deserves to be positioned at the top of the line. It has replaced K10 as my favorite in ear within one listen and is currently unrivaled at this spot and out shines any other earphone I have heard to this date”

UE 18+ Pro $1500 Review
April 29, 2017 Comments Off on UE 18+ Pro $1500 Review
“While the UERM presented a mild U-shaped imposition on its midrange frequencies, the UE 18+ Pro brings the mids more to the forefront. However, the UERR is perhaps the most forward sounding and intimate of these three Ultimate Ears Pro monitors. While not the largest of soundstages, my preference leans towards the UE 18+ Pro’s rendering of midrange frequencies which sound natural and immersive. Mids are full-bodied which is something often lacking in balanced armature earphones”

AUDIOFLY AF180 REVIEW
April 28, 2017 Comments Off on AUDIOFLY AF180 REVIEW
“Overall presentation is smooth and easy on the ear while maintaining the level of clarity and details. Now I have to say AF180 is really well tuned here, even when I like sparky highs I have to admit a bit more energy would have made it slightly uncomfortable for those who don’t love spark in their treble.”

Audeze’s Sine Deluxe $449 – Review
April 26, 2017 Comments Off on Audeze’s Sine Deluxe $449 – Review
“As a wrap, I could tell you that the Audeze Sine sound great. But that only means something if you also know that, for music on the go, where albums from Grandaddy or British Sea Power butt up against external noise, I prefer stronger flavours. Here in central Berlin, Audeze’s tandoori beats out Sony’s korma.”

SHURE SE846 REVIEW
April 26, 2017 § 1 Comment
“Of course the most important part of any audio gear is of course the sound and from the very first moment I put the SE846 in my ears I have barley been able to keep this stupid grin of my face. These are without a doubt the rolls royce of in ear universal earphones so much so that they even manage to compete with full size orthodynamic headphones I have heard. ”

Audeze iSine 10 Headphones Review
April 20, 2017 Comments Off on Audeze iSine 10 Headphones Review
“Next I popped on a set of Ultimate Ears’ UE900s ($399) in- ear headphones that house four proprietary balanced armature drivers—two low-frequency, one midrange, and one treble driver—in each earpiece. As i listened to Frank Sinatra belting out “Blues in the Night” from his Only the Lonely album, the iSine 10 put me more in touch with Ol’ Blue Eyes’ expressive phrasing and dynamics. By contrast, the UE900s flattened them and yanked the soundstage inside my skull. It was a lot less fun to listen to.”

RESONATE ROCK JAW AUDIO $159 REVIEW
April 17, 2017 Comments Off on RESONATE ROCK JAW AUDIO $159 REVIEW
“This is a very musical, fun sounding IEM that offers a variety of tonal presentation types. Hard pressed to say any other $150ish IEM’s offer similar. In fact, I know of none. The build quality is excellent, the cable is fantastic and the set is very laid back and easy on the ear, deep reaching in bass depending on what filter setup used and lastly responds nicely to EQ.”

1More Quad Driver Review
April 13, 2017 Comments Off on 1More Quad Driver Review
“With the recent push to lightning or other all-digital connectors, the 1More Quad Driver model has a traditional 3.5mm jack. It’s a right angle jack which will prevent accidental strain or breakage but won’t be a favorable choice if you use third party battery packs on your mobile device. You’ll likely need a longer 3.5mm adapter to make it fit.”
