“With both the M10 and M20 bookshelves receiving five-star and reviews Group Test-winning status, it’s a thoroughly impressive two from two for the Emit series. If you, or rather your room, determines that the more scale, dynamic range and bass the better, the M20s are bang on the money.”

BOWERS & WILKINS CAPS DIAMOND SERIES 3 WITH NEW FLAGSHIP
August 22, 2016 Comments Off on BOWERS & WILKINS CAPS DIAMOND SERIES 3 WITH NEW FLAGSHIP
“Now, with a 155,000-square-foot factory that has been churning out speakers 24 hours a day, six days a week, that time has come. To launch the 800 D3 and, by the by, to celebrate its 50th anniversary, B&W recently invited a group of journalists to its U.S. headquarters just outside Boston. There I learned about—and heard—the new flagship, which will sell in the U.S. for $30,000 a pair.”

ROCKPORT TECHNOLOGIES LYRA LOUDSPEAKER
August 19, 2016 Comments Off on ROCKPORT TECHNOLOGIES LYRA LOUDSPEAKER
“What I concluded was that the Rockport Technologies Lyra is surely among the finest loudspeakers on earth; it’s certainly the most extraordinary I’ve heard under circumstances where my exposure was sufficient to have that kind of opinion. Every musical genre—and between my files and the material provided by the other visitors, the musical waterfront was covered—was rendered with complete fealty to scale, tonal color, and dynamics. The sense of occasion, with both live performances and studio recordings, was remarkably consistent and contributed mightily to a tendency to forget that this was canned sound. The openness and transparency, the presentation of natural detail, and the stunning delineation of space all spoke to a complete lack of mechanical distortion.

Vandersteen Audio Quatro Wood CT Loudspeakers Review

” And clean too. Not sterile clean… not crazy nutty bat-shit clean. No the Quatros’ “clean” is heard in their resolution. Their truth to tone and decay. Their presence and scale. The timing, rhythm, and pace. Tactile and palpable. Texture. Sounds are there in a wonderful sense of being natural and real… even though they were created by a machine or via electronic manipulation—at least on our music. For sure real instruments sound real… well I guess as real as anything recorded and played back in a defined space can sound real. I mean we hear what we feel things should sound like… what we want them to sound like. And for sure our music sounds more musical and less artificial or reproduced. We hear more of what we want and get into it way more than before. Which is what it is all about.”
