Q ACOUSTICS CONCEPT 40 STEREO LOUDSPEAKERS REVIEW

” As with the Concept 20s, we had no doubt that the Concept 40s’ treble performance was the high point when we were listening. Its ability to reveal even the most microscopically small acoustic details in the upper treble region will make your jaw drop. To experience it, listen carefully to the shimmer after a drummer has hit a cymbal and let it ride… but the trick here is to listen not just to the sound of the cymbal but instead to the other high-frequency sounds being reproduced at the same time.”

Fritz Carbon 7 SE loudspeaker Review

” Near the end of this review, I received from Kevin Deal of Upscale Audio an octet of KT150 output tubes for audition as he wanted my impressions compared to the KT120 that I used for my review of the PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium HP power amplifier. Well, the KT150 corrected the gripe I had with the KT120: a slight loss of midrange smoothness and corresponding increase in muddiness. Not only is the KT150 smoother and more detailed, but more musically involving, more transparent, more bass impaction, and more everything else that is musically important, which the Carbon 7 SE and the rest of my system were able to demonstrate.”

” The high level of bass output also meant that the drum kits were more discernible at the back of the sound stage, instead of simply being there in the background. I really enjoyed a drum solo in one of the Deep Purple albums that I listened to. That bass also reinforces vocals making singers sound more substantial. The sound stage was large with very good depth, and imaging strong and precise. And I noticed when listening to somebody playing a tabla that, while I could hear the sound of the fingers against the skin as I would normally do, I could also hear the deeper sound of air inside the instrument.”

Pylon Audio SAPPHIRE 25 Review

“The Sapphire 25 premiered during Audio Show 2014. These are 2,5 way speakers. Tweeter comes from SEAS – its a soft dome from Prestige line with a wide, soft polymer surround and a rear chamber with optimal acoustic damping. This particular model sports no magnetic fluid which enhances a reproduction of smallest details and subtleties included in the recording. The midrange and bass are reproduced by a pair of paper cone Visaton W170S woofers. Same drivers are used also in our Topaz line. They offer classic spacial, three-dimensional and particularly dynamic sound, characteristic for this type of cones.”

Magnepan .7 speakers $1,395 Review

” The sound was beautifully balanced, so any lingering doubts that Magnepan speakers only sound best in larger rooms disappeared. The .7 may in fact be the ultimate speaker for audiophiles seeking maximum transparency in small rooms.”

“The Aero 6s are direct and forward, with an assured rather than assertive manner. There’s control to keep things steady and clean, and couple that with fine balance and decent precision and you have speakers that are hard to tear yourself away from”

Audionautics GmbH REVIEW

” This reflected in the generally laid-back attitude which lacked springiness like an underdamped car suspension; and particularly from the lower midrange on down, exhibited telltale limpidness regardless of musical programme. In short, the anti child to maniacally popping slap bass. Even plucked acoustic bass and usually snarling oud attacks exhibited less piss & vinegar than was realistic. Sitting a lot closer upstairs and not doing music but mere BBC-style soundtracks to accompany this or that TV series, this hadn’t telegraphed to the same extent. Spinning anything with club beats now felt quasi castrated – too undersprung if you will. Since the very considerable current delivery of the XA30.8’s twenty Mosfets per channel didn’t improve this aspect, I’m quite sure that the air exchange through that floor-facing hole isn’t ideal to load these drivers.”

Black Magic TSM Bookshelf Speakers $3080 Review

June 3, 2015 Comments Off on Black Magic TSM Bookshelf Speakers $3080 Review

http://goo.gl/mh1TLK Read Here

“The areas where the TSM is significantly better than most of the other bookshelf speakers in its price range are the width, depth, holographic nature of its sound stage, the relaxed nature of the sound delivery, the continuous nature across the audible frequency spectrum, the dynamic contrast even at relatively high volume levels and tonal accuracy. In fact from 50Hz and above, if there is a better all-round bookshelf speaker at this price, I have not yet heard it.”

“Powerful and assertive, the 3050s deliver a huge sense of scale and are capable of enveloping our largest test room with ease. You can place them quite far apart without losing a tight stereo image, while they strike the best balance pulled at least 20cm away from the wall.”
