” I find the mids to be the focus on these, they are ever so slightly forward in presentation and have a very soft and slightly mellow tone to them without missing out on finer details. Both male and female vocals fair very well, with a slight edge going to female vocals as they sound a little cleaner. Guitars have power and everything sounds well placed in the mix, yet also well separated. They don’t however have an airy presentation, they do have a slightly thicker presentation.”

” Even more satisfying, and more in line with its price of $12,995/pair, was the Minissimo’s exceptionally pleasing tonal balance — its sound was natural, yet quite full and fleshed out. I also admired the remarkable coherence of the sound — the speaker’s two drivers sounded as if they were one — and its outstanding clarity, particularly through the midrange, where voices live. Then there were the Arabesques’ soundstaging and imaging, which were on a par with the very best I’ve heard here.”

“The MySound Cubes are beautifully built, and give a real sense of pride when setup on your audio rack. They are different to the mass produced norm in many ways, they are valve amplifiers for the modern age. The Cubes are cool running for valve amplifiers, well, cool compared to my Leak amps, and very quiet”

” The beats are very accurate and the overall effect is incredible, no flappy flabby bass here. The soundstage has that great 3D quality that I look for from a pair of headphones with different parts of the music coming from different directions.”

” The Prime also had good treble extension and stayed on the civil side of things, except when pushed really hard. It managed to bring out loads of detail and transparency, giving great insight into each recording. It also had a very communicative midrange, and those with a penchant for those throaty female vocals won’t be disappointed. Perhaps it will not be as smooth as higher-end gear, but you’ll have to shell out a lot more dough to get that.”

” Last but not least the stunning factor would have to be the staging. Many a times studio based products is overly focused on the mixing and mastering to allow the engineers to perfect their production. Some might had forgetten that music enjoyment is not just based on tonal balance and the sense of scale and space is a major factor as well. This is where the BDA-2 outclassed that aspect astoundingly. The soundstage was simply phenomenal with over the top instrument separation which gave such scale and space that one is often looking for.”

” The transmitter has a toggle switch for three frequency IDs. Position A corresponds to the 2.4-gigahertz band. If there’s a lot of Wi-Fi traffic in your household, B or C shifts the frequency up to 5.2 or 5.8 GHz. Transmission from Hub to speakers has a bit depth of 16 and a sampling rate of 48 kilohertz, slightly above CD quality but below the 24 bits and higher sampling rates of high-resolution audio. ”
