Let me start by saying clearly that size does matter only or mostly for the eyes.
When we are discussing about sound stage and pleasure in listening to the music, the eyes should be left out to some extend. Should the ears be set death by the eyes we would have a problem.
I had the pleasure to have a pair of Kiso Acoustic HB in my listening room 5 years ago. That sound did strike me back then. I had them set next to my, at the time, Magico V3.
Five years later the Magico V3 left my room and the Kiso Acoustic HB-1X have replace them. Now two weeks of extensive listening and I can’t stop enjoying the details and the fine presentation of these incredible instruments. The music has taken a new dimension.
The rest of the system has also changed over the years. I have finally decided to spot using CDs and moved to the liquid music. My Spectral SDR 4000 S left. I have purchased the new dCS Bartok. The Pre-Am remain the Spectral DMC 30 SS and the Amp the Spectral DMA 260 s2. Cables all MIT Oracle MA for the signal and MIT Oracle V1.1 going to the Kiso Acoustic HB-1X.
To all of those that had the chance to hear the Kiso Acoustic products all this is quite clear. To those that didn’t yet have that opportunity, find the time, find the place, bring your beloved music and enjoy a new dimension of the sound. The smoothness and the and delicate presentation will strike your soul. Enjoy the journey.
