Mids and treble conveyed satisfyingly on Be Quiet as well, as a lovely sense of balance ruled the day. Molvaer’s trumpet sounded especially vibrant while retaining its correct tonal balance and brassy color. I was also impressed by the complex timbre of the piano, which is especially difficult to capture and reproduce on many recordings. This one seems particularly good, and the Heaven 11 Billie Mk3/BMR monitor combo captures it exceptionally well, especially at the price points of the components. Ditto for the final cut of Be Quiet, which features a lovely duet between cello and trumpet. As a shout-out to the midrange, the cello acquitted itself with an appropriately rosiny growl that really got my attention the first time I really sat in the listening seat and truly absorbed it. My son is an accomplished cellist, so I’ve heard that instrument played live more times in my home than I can count, and that rendering sounded darn near real via the Heaven 11 Billie Mk3 playing through the BMR monitors. Highs were airy and effervescent, signaling an excellent match between the Heaven 11 amp and the Philharmonic speakers’ air motion transformer tweeters. I don’t usually pay excessive attention to the treble, provided it doesn’t call too much attention to itself, sounding peaky or brittle. Here, it was anything but, leaving me slack jawed over my pure enjoyment of it. I suppose the treble in this case did bring itself to my attention, but in a very positive light!
