” Now it uses magnets (what can I say, Audeze like playing with magnets) to stay in place and it also has 8 signal points per side. Now while it doesn’t do anything special in this implementation, it has a lot of opportunity to shine in the future, maybe for charging a Bluetooth headphone or connecting to the lightning output of an iPhone 6, who knows the possibilities are endless. Of course you can do the traditional good stuff such as balance”
Denon PMA-50 Integrated Amplifier $600 Review

“The PMA-50 was ergonomically very good. It ran cool, even as it was left on 24/7, and was compact enough to make it easy to fit into any system. My only complaints are I wish the remote was a tad bigger, and that the display on the front panel could be enlarged. Other than that, the PMA-50 is really a very well designed product.”

“Given the striking similarities between the HE‑400i and the HE‑560, a question inevitably arises: Is the HE‑400i essentially the equal of the HE‑560? The answer is that it is not, although it is very similar in many ways and the sonic differences that do exist are perhaps smaller than one might expect. Thus, while the HE‑400i cannot do all the things the HE‑560 can, it is never embarrassed in the company of its bigger brother. Listen to the two models side‑by‑side and you might draw several important conclusions.”

” If you don’t need the massive dynamic swing that the Emmas’ larger siblings provide, and can live with a bit less bass extension and high-frequency dreaminess, you’ll be amazed at how close the Emmas come in a modest-sized room at moderate to less than ear-splitting levels.”
FIIO X3 GEN 2 DAP REVIEW

“Those wondering if the X3 2G is a decent upgrade on their X1, well the short answer is yes. Compared to the new X3, the X1 sounds darker, more congested and with a notch or two less resolution and clarity and indeed a heavier bass bias. Definition is not as good in the low end though and the speed is not quite up to par also with the new X3. More often than not I use an X1 strapped to a more neutral amp such as the RX just to tone down the weight and increase the air of the X1 stock performance.”

” . For that you need to up your budget to something on the order of the much more expensive Vinnie Rossi LIO integrated amplifier. That one produced a more full-bodied sound, with greater soundstage depth with the SB-C700 speakers. The SU-C700 amp is decent, I just wish it could bring out more of the best in the SB-C700 speakers’ sound”

Parasound zdac v.2 Stereo D/A Converter Review

” When comparing the zdac v.2 to the ESS Sabre chip units Benchmark DAC2-D, Mytek Stereo 192-DSD and Resonessence ConceroHP, the zdac’s tight, tightly focused signature was more apparent in headphone amp A/B comparisons. The Benchmark and Mytek had more warmth to the mid and bass frequencies, and a bit more space around the instruments but again, I liked the analytical persona of the Parasound.”
