” Platter is made of aluminum and it weight 7 kg. It features a vinyl mate on top, and the bottom of the platter is not flat, but has concentric rings, which improve its mechanical properties. Same solution is used in other Transrotor’s models, such as Zet 3, for example, although Jupiter uses a smaller, lighter version of the latter. Platter is placed on a large (Ø 60mm) bearing, that acts also as a subplatter. An AC motor should be placed next to the deck, on the same surface. Its housing is made of brass and is not particularly tall.”

BOULDER AMPLIFIERS 2110 PREAMPLIFIER AND 2160 STEREO POWER AMPLIFIER REVIEW

” I think there’s an instinctual recognition of transparency. It doesn’t need years of listening to increasingly expensive audio components, and it challenges the “I’m no expert,” mind-set of the neophyte. The Boulder 2000 series amps here are extremely transparent and faithful to the source, and that is not difficult to hear in test. It’s surprisingly easy, in fact. You know it’s right on some atavistic level, because the amps offer more of an insight into the recording with less artifice in the way. There are only a handful of amplifiers that offer that kind of clarity, and none of them come cheap.”

Master & Dynamic MW60 Wireless Headphones Review

” Bass extends moderately low with decent decay and slam. However, it should be noted that this is not the headphone for bassheads who require authority and deep reaching lows to satisfy their cravings. Instead, the mid-bass is relatively extensive employing good articulacy and rumble. The sub-bass, however, is not as extensive which was evident in Three 6 Mafia’s “Late Nite Tip” where the sub-bass rumble did not deliver as much presence or heft as the V-Moda Crossfade M100s. To its credit, however, the bass was neatly kept in check without ever becoming distorted or downright messy. Like the MH40, the MH60 has a respectable decay to its bass. However, it does succumb to both the Fostex TH500RP and HiFiMAN HE-400 in sheer tautness and decay speeds.”

” Shure isn’t the first to the punch here, but squeezing electrostatic technology into a fully self-contained package of this shape and size is tantamount to cramming a rocket thruster under the hood of a ‘97 Honda Accord. And while the KSE1500 are priced for only the most ardent audiophiles, any headphone lover can appreciate their sonic achievements. The 1500 unearth a sound marked by unparalleled clarity and transient response above, while coaxing rich and ruddy layers of velvety warmth down below, placing these ‘phones among the most elite performers we’ve ever heard.”

“Audiophiles seeking an unmolested sound in their music will find the UERR’s flat sound signature a godsend in the world of products that claim to be “hear what the artist intended.” The spellbinding voice of early David Bowie captured in his Live Santa Monica ’72 album had me planted in the listening chair throughout the entire album. The expanded soundstage and non-fatiguing sound make me quickly forget that I’m listening to reproduced sound. I feel transported to 1972 in the audience at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. The UERR is so comfortable, it leaves me immersed in the sound. With every use, my ears become accustomed to its flat and balanced sound signature. ”

VERISONIX N501 ELECTROSTATZ ELECTED – REVIEW

” The N501 punches fast, but certainly not heavy. Lows decay almost instantly, leaving loads of room around each note, for a good sense of low-end space. But there is nary a throb nor a yawn. Sure, it will reveal sub-bass test signals, but when juxtaposed against real life music, it hits and fades before you’ll realise it.”
