“The EL-8 is a more down to earth and down the line orthodynamic headphone using all the latest Audeze technologies. The EL-8 is available in an Open and Closed version and we’ll be covering both of them in this review. The EL-8s were launched a few months ago already and the market price is $699 if you’re buying them from the online Audeze store. By setting the price a few hundred USD below the previous entry model, Audeze reaches a bigger market.”

Tube Amp LF-15 Review
August 27, 2015 Comments Off on Tube Amp LF-15 Review
“Due to the sub-bass boost, bass kick and extension are quite excellent – but can be a double edge sword if you already have a really bass heavy headphone or simply doesn’t like that much bass. Though the good news is that the boost is all in the sub-bass region and doesn’t intrude the mid-range at all. An even better news would have been a user selectable bass boost switch, which would have made the LF-15 a more versatile amp. One setting that user does get to play with is the ‘tone’ knob, which doesn’t seem to vary the frequency response that much but there are fairly audible change in the presentation. With the tone all the way to the left, the presentation is on a warmer and smoother side; with the tone all the way to the right, the presentation changes toward a cleaner and detail oriented sound. It is almost like the tone knob is changing the focus of the presentation between the mid-low and upper mid-high range, though I can’t be sure of the exact mechanism behind it. Last but not least, the soundstage is quite good.”
Alpha Design Labs “A1” Live Update Review

” This headphone choice may create a few critical comments as not being neutral or natural sounding, but this is a professional studio monitoring headphone thus should allow for me to hear any faults in the audio signature that the ADL “A1″ may present through a thorough listening session. ”
Pro-Ject Essential II Digital review

“The Essential II Digital needs careful placement to get the optimum sound, especially as it doesn’t have much in the way of suspension. It’s best to place it on a rigid support, away from the speakers or any other source of vibration.”
ProAc Studio 118 Review
August 26, 2015 § 1 Comment
” ProAc says the Studio 118s handle all genres excellently, and it’s difficult to argue. They follow the story of The Streets’ Blinded By The Lights: there is real oomph in the kick, the snare snaps and the synthesizer’s out-of-time tremolo gives it all that off-kilter feel of being slightly spaced and paranoid in a club.”
Rogue Audio Stereo 100 Tube Amplifier Review
August 26, 2015 Comments Off on Rogue Audio Stereo 100 Tube Amplifier Review
” With the Rogue 100 female vocals came off very well and I believe male vocals actually improved a bit from what I recall of the Medusa’s renderings. Recordings from Jack Johnson, Hugh Laurie, Sean Hayes, Greg Brown and the aforementioned Mose Allison all hit the mark for full and natural sounding vocal presence. This is a nice treat compared to what many other amps provide.”
Fidue A65 Review
August 26, 2015 Comments Off on Fidue A65 Review
” The mids sit just behind the lows in terms of presence, but they do not sound recessed. Vocals shine through with good detail and no sibilance, both male and female vocals sound even in their presentation. Electric guitars have power, and the mids are always present and engaging, acoustic guitars have body and decay.”
