ABYSS Diana DZ $3995 Review

In balanced high gain mode, both devices do not have enough headroom to drive the Diana DZ comfortably without it starting to sound shouty and thin.
It was only when I plugged the Mystic XP1 into its accompanying AC power brick and turned on its M-Power mode did the DZ suddenly delivered the necessary weight and headroom to sound like it was being driven quite well.
M-Power provides up to 1.5W of power at 50Ω which is closer to where the DZ should be but bear in mind the Mystic XP1 becomes a desktop amplifier in the process.
If you need portable power without a power cable the best I can suggest is the Cayin C9 which will give you 1.6W into a 50Ω going balanced plus a few tonal tweaks to fine-tune the Diana DZ which is a plus in my book.

PS Audio Aspen FR5 Stand-mount Speakers $3,495 Review

Shown below is an exploded view of the FR5. The inside of the enclosure is open to both drivers, but there is a 4mm deep cup with damping material that seals the tweeter voice coil along with a foam gasket for the tweeter frame. There are several braces as well as long bolts that attach the front baffle to the rear panel. This pulls the enclosure very tightly together. Polyester fiber is used inside the enclosure for damping.
The box is tuned to 35 Hz. Passive radiator enclosures have a steeper roll-off below their tuning point than a typical ported enclosure because of the additional compliance term of the passive radiator. As such, there isn’t much output capability below the tuning frequency.

The Reference 7 may ‘only’ be the smallest floorstander in Canton’s reinvigorated top-of-the-line range but it’s still a very solid performer that easily fills larger rooms. Introducing a radical but pleasing industrial design and embodying new ‘acoustic smarts’, the Reference 7 is a capable performer that, while extracting the finer points of recordings, really excels at communicating power, dynamics and thrills.

FlipEars ARTHA $1699 Review

Now I know these little portable video devices and where you can buy them. They do not cost that much but using them as part of IEM packaging is a stroke of genius and elevates the ARTHA unboxing experience massively.
Granted, after lifting the lid about 20 times you might get bored of the video but pay careful attention to the accessories since the box is packed with a small USB cable that not only charges the media player but allows you to mount the device on your PC and change the movie file.
Aside from the media, you get two sets of ear tips, a large leather carry case with decent room to fit the shells and cable, a cleaning tip, a cable organizer velcro strap, and a cleaning cloth. It’s a pretty decent lineup of gear with a great unboxing experience.
