LABKABLE SAMURAI III IEM CABLE REVIEW
April 2, 2017 § 1 Comment
” Labkable Samurai III is not a cheap aftermarket cable. However, there is a significant improvement over stock cable in terms of the midrange resolution, the airiness of the bass department, and the space around instruments. I would definitely recommend Samurai III to those who need to hear a more open tone and a more airy presentation with a better resolution. Labkable, as a brand, has a strong background and a R&D department. In that regard, they know how to tune a good cable. The Labkable cables that I tested deserve appreciation and they are worth their prices.”

ATI AT527NC and AT524NC Amplifiers $3,695 Review

“The same could be said of the amp’s performance on the title track from Janis Ian’s Grammy-nominated Breaking Silence. The FLAC file has a very analog vibe to it, even though it was sourced from a CD. I love using it to test dynamics and imaging. The song opens with a quiet solo-voice section that draws you in before the close-miked percussion and acoustic guitar enter. With highquality equipment, you can actually hear the fingers moving over the guitar strings, and that’s exactly what you get with the ATI: unabashed transparency. The amp doesn’t color the sound in any perceptible way, which is how I like it and how it should be.

LAKE PEOPLE REFERENCE SERIES REVIEW

“Interestingly enough, most of the Reference Series’ sound character actually comes from the DAC instead. In recent years, DAC chips have become very powerful and all should handle most tasks similarly efficient. Many people argue the process of digital to analogue conversion does not have a sound but my recent review of the ADI-2 Pro should prove that claim wrong. The RS 02 DAC is very clean sounding and in combination with the RS 08 it creates a very slightly analytical and sterile presentation – in the most positive way”

ENGIMAcoustic Sopranino Super Tweeters

” I can recommend these, though many will find the cost somewhat off-putting. At $3690 a pair, the Sopranino is considerably more than other super tweeters, but then again, those costing less tend to not be nearly as attractive nor feature the design and construction of the Sopraninos. If that is important, then the price of admission is what it is. I did not like the thin pad that came with the tweeters to protect the finish of any speaker it is places on”

CAMPFIRE AUDIO DORADO REVIEW

“Both have fantastic bass responses from their respective bass drivers but they differ in their emphasis. The A91 puts all its eggs in an elevated sub-bass response and relatively linear drop from 150 Hz whereas the the Dorado is thicker, warmer, and more sustained into its mid-bass signature. Thus you will hear the rumble of the A91 but it’s not as impactful and hard hitting as the Dorado’s meaty bass response.”

Final Sonorous III Headphones $400 Review

“Listening to Tidal’s streaming, lossless music on my iPhone 6S, the Sonorous III belted out vivid transients with trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith’s brilliant Wisdom in Time album. His horn had terrific power and nuance, and it never turned harsh.

Audiodesksysteme Gläss Vinyl Cleaner Pro Review

“which my dictionary defines as “the formation of partial vacuums in a liquid by a swiftly moving solid body (as a propeller) or by high-intensity sound waves” — cleans your records for 90 seconds. In this case, cavitation is effected by activating the cleaning fluid to form tiny bubbles, which are then projected at speed at the record surface. After cleaning, the record continues to be automatically spun as it’s air-dried for 4 1/2 minutes, and as wiper blades remove excess fluid. Altogether, the Vinyl Cleaner Pro takes six minutes to clean a record — it’s not a short process, but it requires nothing of you but pressing that red button. And while it’s doing the work, you can clean up your e-mails or declutter some other aspect of your life.”
