” The mids cut through the mix quite nicely, without coming across too full bodied. Both male and female vocals cut through with detail and clarity whilst the lows back them up with body. The mids don’t suffer from sibilance or harshness, and are not in any way fatiguing. The mids can bring out emotion is an singers voice, they are very intimate and engaging. They do well with most genres and do well on intimate acoustic recordings.”
PLUSSOUND CLOUD NINE REVIEW

” The Cloud Nine has excellent full bodied bass and mids at all time, that’s the second thing you’ll notice. At the same time it packs a good punch and has good attack/speed but it could be a little bit faster. Over all I wouldn’t call the CN a neutral sounding amplifier but it’s not overly warm either. It doe however is on the warmer side of neutral and you especially get that feeling because of the full bodied mids and bass. I wouldn’t really say there is an absolute focus on bass but there certainly is more than enough of it and I like it. ”

” Now, moving inside of the chassis – this is where the magic happens. The Exogal team has an extensive history – not only in high-end audio design but also other disciplines like GPS, broadband networking, and various other non-audio fields. This allows for a different approach, a road less traveled by designers who lack this experience. ”

“The control the430HA had with the low-end grandeur of the LCD-X’s was state of the art. The active bass line of the next song on the album, Goodbye, was as good of a headphone presentation as I have heard. High hat work shimmered off to infinity. This was a mountaintop experience!”

” The well-braced cabinets are made of a composite of Apple ply brand void-free plywood and Medex panels (similar to MDF but water- and mold-resistant). The foundation or base is separate from the cabinet and joined with a semi-hard or firm membrane that somewhat decouples the speaker — let’s say it is a very firm decoupling, and the rubber leveling casters further decouple the loudspeaker, if needed for hard tile floors.”

” I am never quite sure if this cable is the same cable used by just about every customs company except AAW but line them up with the likes of 1964EARS, Vision Ears, M Fidelity, Unique Melody etc and they look the same to me. They are comfy, light and have zero memory retention and very little in the way of microphonics so its a good cable but not a unique cable”

” The SE’s handled these notes very well. Now I’m not saying that the SE’s will produce the kind of foundation-challenging bottom end I get from my Legacy Focus SE’s in my Large-Room Reference system, but in my small room the kind of articulate and fairly deep bass the GT SE can conjure up is impressive and deserving of respect. In fact, with the PS Audio DirectStream as the DAC (with the Pike’s Peak firmware) the SE’s spilled out bass details on familiar recordings that I had never heard before. That’s how articulate their bass performance can be with the right associated gear and a good room to support it.”

” The backing orchestra went from sounding like a holistic group to sounding like individual instruments that were easily distinguishable from each other within the ensemble. Bob Copper’s tenor sax had more of a reedy sound, and was projected as if it were being played in a larger space than what I’d previously heard. Moving to “A Night in Tunisia,” the tempo of the music sounded a bit quicker because of the increased resolution and faster transient response of the PC-1 Supreme. In isolation, the stick work of Tony Williams’ drumming was much more easily followed throughout the entire performance. When the bass solo came in, the fingering of the strings sounded more agile and persuasively realistic. While the drum solo wasn’t quite as stunning in weight and fullness, it still carried a hefty dynamic punch with greater resolution. Paired with the Orion Reference FMD, this combination was highly enjoyable.”
